I originally went for a 3080 . Then changed to 6800xt then 6800 . I know I should be more patient lol.

I ordered a 6800xt aswell. Only one I've saw them have they gave to a youtuber for a giveaway

I'm thinking of switching to the 3060 Ti at this point as this seems to be in stock at the moment.
I can always upgrade in a few months when the stock issues are fixed, and sell the 3060 Ti.
I'm still rocking 1080p 60Hz monitors as I was planning on getting the Samsung G9 with the new build, but could delay and see what monitors they have in a few months.
At least with the 3060 Ti I'll be able to max everything out at 1080p 60+fps, even with ray tracing.
I'd like to be able to play the latest games over the holidays...my current laptop won't even be able to run Cyberpunk (GTX 970M) lol

They said the only thing holding up my order is the 6800 XT.
Honestly I would be more willing to hold on for if they could give me any sort of estimate on when they would get stock in.

That's what I've been told and yes I think it's a stupid way to handle things should be first come first serve

But that's nuts! Why have two people waiting when by moving a component from one to complete the other build you only have one customer waiting. It makes complete sense.

To an extent, yes. I'm not convinced they always do that though, there's potential you wouldn't get your build at all otherwise, i.e. CPU in stock, but GPU out of stock and then a week later GPU in stock, but CPU out of stock. A week later they're both in stock but your case isn't so again they'd get reassigned.

I highly doubt they work like that as it would be pretty poor customer service, but again, I am only speculating. Give them a call tomorrow Nivek and best of luck!

From my recent experience parts are allocated to you as soon as they can be - I ordered a system on 5 Nov too (14.02) with a 5900x and had a 500D SE case. The case has been out of stock for the last couple of weeks but I still got my PC delivered last week so it seems to evidence that one was "reserved" for me previously.
