Bioshock Infinite

I mean I found Modern Warfare 3 offensive, but whereas offending religious beliefs is seen as a no-no, offending my brain apparently isn't :)

CoD bashing, yey!

Yup, its an offshoot of Godwin's Law, that states that:

"As an online discussion about games grows longer, the probability of slagging off Modern Warfare or Slack Ops reaches 1"

:D

LOL True,

COD offends me before i even get out of the shop with it with its £50 price tag.

Did anyone else find this part obnoxious, yet quite amusing? :p Just a heads up for anyone who hasn't played through yet, potential story spoilers as it's a part of a walkthrough of the game. It's also set to start right before the part I refer to.

Bioshock infinite, the Vox song

Just now finished this and I can't believe how great it was. It blew my expectations out of the water. So many twists and turns, I just couldn't get enough - I was eager to see the story unfold, but at the same never wanted it to end! Now to either fight temptation or grab that season pass at some point. So much win.

Glad you liked it, I have been raving about it to my friends. I actually enjoyed the experience of sitting back after the airship and watching the last threads of the story unwind over fifteen minutes or so. A lot of detractors have said the story could have been paced better but I'm not sure that's the case. I always like the "fourth wall" experience whereby a game/book/film examines the creative process itself and that's very much the feeling i got staring up at all those lighthouses and thinking of the thousands of other players/Bookers having that same unique experience. Have you played the others in the series?

Yeah, played both of the previous and got along great with both. I think the first time I got an interest for games like this was Second Sight. Majorly obsessed with the first one, which I saw trailers of quite a bit before release, but at the time had a not so great GPU back then, couldn't even start it up - Tried a PS3 demo, but preferring PC gameplay, I got it some time after release when I was able to get a better computer to handle it - Loved listening to the recordings and the whole story, and when the second came out I bought it the day of release - Some people when they played it were saying it was a disappointment, and one even said it just felt like the final Fontaine meeting from the first all the way through, which I didn't agree with. The story didn't take me in as much as 1, but it wasn't terrible and the introduction of being able to use Plasmids and weapons was a great step forward, I though.

I think all three had really good characters, and the voice acting always stood out to me. I've played the first countless times to complete it and even the second - Seeing some of the trailers for infinite, I wasn't fully sure what I thought, one minute I thought it looked great, other times it seemed lacking, but I'm more than glad I actually bought it - Though I think that there's no doubt I would have bought it regardless considering I was a big fan of the other two.

I'm not usually one to be taken in to certain things, like stories etc, but Bioshock infinite really gripped me, going from thinking I had a good understanding of the story so far in, and then being dragged right through to confusion and so on. All in all, I'm amazed greatly by the turn out of this game.

Although this game has nothing to do with the previous two games, there are a few little special moments referring to the previous two games in infinite. But I won't spoil it because it was AWESOME! :)

Ending blew my mind, I actually had to google it to understand it more.

I'm enjoying it, the gorgeous graphics do help the game a lot admittedly but the premise is unique enough (to me) to keep it interesting. I'm only a couple of hours into so far though so we'll see how it goes.

I was feeling that for the first half, its like the other bioshock games but the other half is immense.

Sorry I'm a little late to the bioshock party but would just like to say wow. It's a beautiful looking game. Even on my laptop. Anyone tried the old school difficulty mode?

I did, but then quickly found out there was no route guidance allowed. I have an significantly weak working memory and have to rely on maps or route guides to help me get around anywhere (real life or in game) as I can't remember routes, directions etc. Without either a map or that arrow hint I'd just be wandering around in circles for hours. So I gave up...

Yeah i read about that and decided to play it through on hard first. But not sure i'll remember the way there's a bit of back tracking.

I thought this mode would include repairing your guns and gun jams etc like in System Shock.

.... Been playing bioshock for 6 hours
... game crashed.
... saves gone
:(

Sour news mate... That is unusual though, or at least, I've never seen it myself before...

It is a good game though and soooo worth the additional 6 hours slogging through it again :)

Hmm i thought i did a follow up.

Yeah when i went back into the game and there was no option to continue, so i tried turning it off and on again and there it was, good old steam.

Finished it last night too, was a great ending to the game. Lots of room for interpretation. Was going to open up a SPOILER THREAD to talk about it but its been out a while and i dont want someone being drawn into the thread and accidently spoil it for themselves.

I think i'll be getting the season pass.

I've still got to finish it, I'm close to the end now so I should get my rear into gear and get it done.
