Bluetooth - driver keeps being deleted

Hi,

I'd appreciate some help please with a bluetooth issue i've had constantly since purchasing this PC.

Problem: The bluetooth functionality stops working multiple times a day. Headphones, controllers etc are connected then a few hours later all connections are lost. The bluetooth icon in the windows tray disappears. If I delete and reinstall the driver in device manager it works temporarily... until losing connection again sometime later.

What I've tried: Updating the driver via Windows Update; using the Intel Driver and Support tool to update to latest versions; uninstalling and reinstalling the driver.

I have noticed that this mostly happens when the PC goes into sleep mode. This makes me think it could be related to a power management issue but I am unable to set any power management settings for this in device manager (no power management tab).

Please see attached screenshots. If I can post any logs etc to help with diagnosis please let me know.

Sounds like either a faulty usb port, or possibly that it's plugged into a USB port expander that isn't receiving enough power

Or it's a faulty card.

First thing to try is another USB header on the motherboard. If it's plugged into a USB expander board, try it direct into the USB header on the board for a while to test.

Can you post screenshots of both your windows update page and device manager, have you tried reseating the AX200

Thanks for your replies.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver. I also installed all updates in the windows update page, including the optional ones. I checked physical connections on the plugs as well.

Bluetooth was working perfectly and I left the PC to go into sleep mode. I have returned 2 hours later and the bluetooth is not connected, disappeared from the icon tray, and device manager shows a yellow warning sign. I have attached images for reference.

This definitely seems like an issue caused by the PC going into sleep mode

I would disable sleep mode. It really isn’t necessary these days. Either leave the PC running, or shut it down and wait s few seconds for it to boot when required.

Have you seen this thread? Seems that it was a problem as long ago as 2016! The interesting point was that the problem does not seem to occur with Win 10 home edition.

That's interesting. I have Win 10 Professional edition so looks like the very same issue is happening with my PC.

You're correct. I actually disabled sleep last night and shut down the PC instead. I have just turned it on again today and the bluetooth is still working, and none of the drivers have been deleted.

It looks like this issue only occurs when the PC goes into sleep mode. Hopefully disabling sleep has mitigated the issue. I'll test this out for a couple days to make sure and report back in this thread.

Unfortunately the problem reoccured just now...

My PC has been idle for a few hours, without going into sleep, and the bluetooth has stopped working again.
