Hi guys

Just received my pc today... got it all set up and so on.

Only problem is, I get BSOD every time i try to play a game. Ive tried Dragon age 2, crysis and mafia 2.

All 3 give me BSOD after 15 or so minutes.

I chose liquid cooling for cpu so assume thats why there is no fan on the side of the maelstrom t900?

Can anyone tell me whats going wrong before i call technical support? thanks..

Ah that sucks Nicko!

Glad you got it all ok today, hopefully the BSODs are just teething problems from a setting or 2.

Can you give us the error details from the BSODs - without that, there's nowhere to start to help.

The details we need are any files named and the Technical information pointed to here...

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

System encountered an uncorrectable hardware error.

Is it only happening with those games? Are other games okay or are these the only games you've tried? If it's

Unfortunately, that particular error number is not specific to any particular device which it just about the most difficult to diagnose as it could be a hardware failure, a driver problem, a problem with the game itself or just the overclock settings needing a bit of a tweak.

The best thing to do first - if you are comfortable doing so - is to remove and reinsert the RAM and graphics cards as they can sometimes become slightly loose or crooked during delivery. You will not be able to tell by looking at them and it is no good just pushing them - they have to be completely removed and re-installed. If the problem is only happening with certain specific applications, it's also important to check them - check for updates and look at the application publisher's forums to see if there are known problems. It's also a good idea to check your drivers - especially for the graphics card if games are crashing. Don't just download the latest - read the release notes first as these driver sare constantly being updated to resolve problems with specific games - they will also tell you if a problem is known but not yet resolved.

If those don't apply, you'll need to contact PCS's technical support so they can talk you through adjusting the overclock settings - don't worry, it's perfectly normal to make small adustments now and again and it doesn't mean that PCS have done anything wrong or that there's any problem with your PC. PCS can't do those adjustments via the forum - you'll need to phone them. It's easy to do and shouldn't take very long.

Turns out i didnt properly turn off the overclock. had to press f10 to save in motherboard settings.

Ive had no BSOD during a 2 hour gaming session and prime 95 ran without BSOD.

Still im disappointed that the OC that pcspecialist did was not stable.

Although we try to ensure that every pre-overclocked PC is 100% stable, this is a near impossible task. We run numerous benchmarks, burn-in & stress tests to ensure that the overclock is stable but occasionally overclocked PCs can encounter problems after the pc has left our warehouse - this is the nature with overclocked PCs I'm afraid as you are running the components at a faster speed than they were designed to run at.

The good thing is that you have your warranty and you can call/email Tech Support for the latest BIOS Settings for your PC. We are constantly working on them & tweaking them to improve the stability of overclocks.
