Build for Photoshop

Hi all - new to the forum but have been lurking a little while.

I'm on a pretty tight budget as you can see! I'm hoping this will be ok to run mainly Photoshop CS5 and do some very basic video editing in Sony Vegas Movie Studio 10.

I've gone for two hard drives as I understand it's better to have the scratch disk for CS5 on a separate drive. I thought I'd partition the 2nd drive 300gb/700gb and use the 300gb partition as the scratch disk.

Please let me know if I've made any glaring errors and suggest (inexpensive if at all possible!!) solutions.

Hi again. I've updated the spec after getting some advice elsewhere. I've changed the motherboard to include USB 3 for a bit of future proofing and I've changed the PSU to 600w as I intend to add a 3rd hard drive using one I've recently bought and put in a external casing to use as a scratch disk for photoshop on my laptop. (Once I get this PC I'll be transferring PS over to it so won't need the hard drive for the laptop any more).

I'd really appreciate any comments on this as I'm hoping to part with my cash very shortly. Thanks.

Have used similar system components for use with CS5 (rather more bits as I am using Premiere) BUT you may want to check if PCSPECIALIST have an unusual number of problems with 1TB WD CAVIAR BLACK... I have had 2 0ut of 3 disc failures needing replacements in under 2 months!

Thanks for your responses. Ordered last night. Stayed with the Black drive due to price difference and this spec pushing the limits of my budget.

You posted this on another thread 4 minutes before this which I have replied to here. Please do not spam this message on each and every thread.

Back to Shades' spec, as Phoenix said, the specification is pretty good and nothing really needs changing - you've even included the Silver Warranty which a lot of people overlook :)

Once again, thanks for the excellent customer support.

My build has been held up by the Coolermaster Sileo case I had wanted being out of stock. Called up today and stock of that case isn't due in until Tuesday now so I decided to go with the Coolermaster 690 II Advanced instead. (Glad I did as it looks like a very nice piece of kit!)

So below is my final machine. (Order online is now saying "ORDER PREPARED FOR PRODUCTION, CURRENTLY AWAITING: COOLERMASTER CM690 MKII ADVANCED CASE but I assume that just means it's got to picked from stock, not that it's out of stock!!)

Chap on the phone said that hopefully it'll be with me mid to late next week. Getting very excited now!!

Just have to say that every time I've had contact either by phone or email the team have been very helpful, so thanks for that.

I like that Cooler Master 690 - it's a really nice mixture of elegence and bit of bling. I was really torn between that and the Maelstrom that I bought in the end. It's just a shame that PCS don't do my favourite case - I seriously lurv this one...
