If this is a gaming/general office and home use then the 3900X CPU is an overshoot, and as you want to keep it under a £2K budget I would suggest a lower spec CPU.
All out pimp, 3800XT, cost/power/use balance would be a 3600X or 3600XT, a 3700X is a nice middle ground I think.
Motherboard choice is also well over what you need, if you took a 3800XT when i would suggest the ROG Strix 570X, lower spec CPU then the TUF 570X is a good choice.

GPU... avoid AMD here, the GPU's come with a lot of potential issues and generally Nvidia is a no-brainer for GPU's (especially with the new ones being released over the next few weeks) If you hold out for the 3070 which is likely mid Oct (but no official date yet) or take a 2070 Super now (assuming you pair it with a 144Hz 1440p monitor).

Would bump the PSU up to the 750RMx (quality of PSU/ease of use and a little extra headroom for future GPU upgrades)

Wouldnt bother with the extra fan youve chosen, if you are looking at one for the rear exhaust, buy a quality one specifically for it to match the rest of the fans in it.

Cooler is the old H100... you dont want it trust me, either wait for the H100i Platinum to come back in stock or take the H115i Platinum (3800XT either are good, higher than the 3800XT I would lean towards the H115i Plat) Also with the corsair coolers, you dont need to chose the upgraded thermal paste, it comes with a high quality paste pre-applied thats equal if not better than the Arctic.

The case appears to be a slightly cheaper version of the 500D SE...I dont know much about it as its fairly new (or wasnt on the site when I was building mine recently).

Do you already have a monitor? If so whats the spec/model? If you are buying one, its important to remember that the GPU choice is directly tied to the monitor you will use. Most current builds would aim 1440p 144Hz as a standard choice, If you are going to go 1080p then the GPU requirements are much lower.

You can also save about £100 if you have an old PC running Win 10 (7 & 8.1 can also both be upgraded to 10 for free still, then you can transfer it across). Signing in to your microsoft account will allow it to digitally licence the Win 10 copy, and then you simply remove the old system from your microsoft account and activate on the new PC via your microsoft account digital licence.

I will stress it again though, this would assume you are going to get, or have, a 1440p 144Hz monitor, if you go 1440p Ultrawide then the 2080 Super is better suited (the 3070 however may be perfect but waiting on more info about just how good it is, rumour is it will perform better than the 2080Ti...but no one knows yet if thats just in terms of Ray Tracing or everything..if everything the 3070 will be a real bargain and very useful bit of kit).

If you have a PC already and its running windows 10, its very easy.
Go to microsoft.com and sign in. If you've used Office 365 or Outlook or even if you use it as your login for Win 10 rather than a private/local user that will be the same login.

It your account profile you will have options like devices, its worth seeing what it says at least, you may find its already there.
You create a boot usb using Media Creation Tool which is on the microsoft site, install that on the new PC and then run windows update till its clear. Then download the graphics card software (Nvidia website for Geforce Experience, which will then do the rest for you)

So, is the Obsidian 500D SE the only one with the internal USB hub thingie included that would allow the non-Strix 570? Or am I getting confused again as I remember reading something in another thread today but can't remember the case in question
I think the corsair cases include a commander pro which is a multi connector thingy as below:

71+4zTPv6hL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

And that has those 2 usb headers on them which the cooler USB could mount on.

Now I'm not entirely certain on which units this is included on, I'll need to read up on each individual case. I know the more premium cases in the Crystal range defintely have it, but not entirely sure on the 500D SE as that's an older model, let me have a quick look.

Yes, it does have it, as from the corsair product page for the 500D SE:

The Obsidian Series 500D RGB SE is a premium mid-tower enthusiast PC case with aluminum construction, smoked tempered glass panels, and software control over fans and RGB lighting enabled by a CORSAIR iCUE Commander PRO.

Looks good to me. That's one hell of a machine you'll have once it arrives.

If your looking to cut costs you could easily get away with 16GB ram @ 3600MHz its more than enough for any modern AAA game. Another set of the same ram is currently about £80 on Amazon at the moment and its a easy upgrade. if you plan on streaming or creating content then leave as is

Post the reconfig link though so the other here can make adjustments if need be

Enjoy!

If this is mainly a gaming build I’d suggest dropping the RAM to 16GB of 3600MHz, changing the motherboard to the TUF X570, getting rid of the extra case fan and putting the saved money towards an additional 1TB PCS M.2 drive.

The ROG Strix motherboard isn’t needed for that CPU and the case / cooler combo you’ve chosen means you wouldn’t need the additional (cheap and noisy) fan.

Having the extra fast storage would speed up long loading times considerably, which is more beneficial than the above items. An additional bonus is that if you need to do a clean install of Windows at any point, your games and saves will be safely stored and won’t get wiped 👍
