"C:" and "D:" drive missing

Hello,

I was doing a factory reset and unfortunately, there was a power cut which turned off my PC and interrupted the reset process. After I was able to turn it back on, it undid the reset and now both the "C:" and "D:" drive are missing when I opened the quick access folder. This also resulted in being unable to reset the PC again as I get "There was a problem resetting your PC, no changes were made" error.

Is there a way to recover the drives and perform a proper factory reset?

Your best bet will be to do a full clean install, rather than trying to clear up whatever mess has been caused IMO (you will need a USB stick - at least 8GB in size)

You can download Windows here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10, and follow the instructions how to create a media installation tool on a USB stick
If you have upgraded to Win11, there is probably a very similar page on the Microsoft site for it.

Note you will lose anything you didn't have backup somewhere else that was on the C drive, though if you picked the reset that also removes files that would've happened anyway

If W11 then follow this

Download a new copy of Windows using the Media Creation Tool (Second option on linked page) to an 8GB (min) USB.
Boot that USB and choose a Custom Install.
Delete all UEFI partitions on the system drive (EFI System, Recovery, MSR Reserved, Primary).
Select the unallocated space that results and click the Next button. The installer will create the correct partitions and install Windows.
Run Windows Update repeatedly, even across reboots, until no more updates are found.
You may need/want to download and install the latest graphics driver from the Nvidia/AMD website (they change so regularly the latest version isn't always in the Windows libraries).
