Call Of Duty Modern Warfare II Crashes.

I have just purchased a custom built PC from PC Specialists to play Call Of Duty Modern Warfare II. I have a downloaded the game from Battle.Net. when I click on it to Play, it gets to the Activision graphics then crashes with the following report:
The application has unexpectedly stopped working.
Select Scan and Repair to restart the game and authorize Battle.Net to verify your installation. etc.

Error Code: 0x00001338 (0) N
Executable: game_ship.exe

I have reinstalled the game a couple of times, didn't make any difference.
I have set the game to "Run as administrator", didn't make any difference.
I have "repaired" the graphics card software, didn't make any difference.

Any ideas would be greatfully received as this game is the main reason I purchased the PC.

That is a common error code I can see from a quick Google mate

Something about corrupt game files, people have mixed results with messing with the settings but appears to be an issue with the game itself much less your system

I will say that I'm concerned with your CPU cooler choice, you've went with one of the hottest chips ever made in the 12900 and paired it with a 4 year old cooler. I'd keep a very very close eye on those temperatures because the H60 is really out of it's depth there

I was about to make the same comment re the cooler as Steve, that's not a good pairing at all. Have you tried any of the fixes listed here?

I, obviously wrongly, thought some one at PC Specialists would have flagged an issue with the cooler / processor combination.
Us lot, in here, are PCS customers who like to try and help people out. And generally chat Computers.
PCS are a company who will build a computer to your spec.
If you order an "iffy" custom build, they'll build it.
If you order something that won't operate, they'll flag the issue.
Your cpu/cooler combination is "iffy", but it'll operate.
They (PCS) assume that, if you order a custom build, you have researched your spec for yourself. And have reasons for the choices you have made.
A good way of researching your spec for yourself, is to ask us lot, before ordering. Assuming you aren't a hardware expert yourself.
Don't ask me personally, I've got too much to relearn/update, to be giving hardware advise.
