Can anyone recommend a spec for my needs + monitor?

Hi, I'm relatively new to PC's and to be honest I don't know what I'm looking for.
I will note that I won't be ready to purchase one for a couple of months so hope that is alright. I just like to know what I'm aiming for ahead of time.

Now as for what I will be using it for, gaming mostly but wanting to start streaming on twitch, as well as possibly searching for videos on Youtube plus music. So a bit of a multi tasker really. Also good WiFi.

Budget around £3000 (just for the computer) give or take a few hundred, AIO cooler (As that is what I have at the moment) and RGB stuff because I am bored at starring at a dull no lighting computer.

Now for monitor, currently no budget as I want to see what is out there. I have been playing on a LG 27UD69P-W which was originally bought for the Xbox one X at the time as that had freesync and is an IPS panel but now I'm also looking for a great 1440p monitor (higher the FPS the better) as I am nearly fully transferring from console gaming to PC. (Although I also have a series X to play with my dad so the monitor must also support freesync through HDMI)

Also I've never used a Radeon gpu before, so would prefer the nvidia geforce stuff however I think they use G-sync and the Xbox series X uses freesync? So I'm not sure how that would work with a monitor but then I'm mostly clueless with this sort of stuff hence why asking for advice.


Anyway I understand if you can't help with the monitor but if you could that would be great.

Hey Craig! Could put a lot together with your build so that's good! In regards to the monitor we would ideally need a budget for this, are you looking for just a Standard 27" 1440p 144Hz monitor or maybe something bigger such as a widescreen?

Ideally if you say no budget for the monitor we could set you up with a monitor that is quite expensive (yes, the range of prices for monitors can be very high) so it's your preference with the type of monitor you'd like

EDIT: We can then work on a PC build that is suitable for your monitor. What type of games will you be playing?

All kinds of games really as there isn't really a 1 game I play. COD, Overwatch, World of Tanks, Wreckfest those are just some I play right now but I want a PC that can handle any current game full detail really and upcoming games like Battlefield, new COD, Overwatch 2 although those requirements most likely aren't known as of yet.

Right now a Monitor around 27" in size, no smaller but can go a bit bigger like 32" as the monitor shares the desk with the Xbox and a TV that I sometimes use as a second screen just for searching guides or music while playing games on my main screen. As for budget for the monitor probably around £700, bit lower bit higher. Like I said it must support freesync through HDMI and a nivdia geforce card, if that does exist I'm not sure.
Honestly though I would just like to see what monitors are available to me for what I need.

I’ll be suggesting something along these lines, beautiful case and components with all the RGB trimmings, fast storage, enough memory and cores to cope with any game and streaming or content creation, a great value WiFi card with Bluetooth connectivity.

I have left the GPU out as we can adjust that to suit the monitor. But even with a 3080 in, it’d still come in under budget 🙂👍

Probably a silly question but what is the difference between 4 8gb RAM and 2 16gb ones? As I have noticed there is a selection to choose between the two.

Is the 4 8gb ones better because there are more of them? Or no difference in performance.

2x 16GB lets you go to 64GB in the future if you wanted to and costs the same so it's usually recommended

The obvious difference is that it allows you to go up to 64GB if necessary if you went for 2X16GB. But it’s also because with the new Ryzen CPUs, using four sticks is actually faster than two. So whilst I don’t think you’d need more than 32GB, I’m sure you’d appreciate more shiny shiny RGB and a slight performance increase 👍
