Cancelling an order 16 days into pre production

I bought a desktop pc on finance ( 16 working days pre production) but I have found a really good price for a different spec (i dont want to ammend) on pc specialist and was wondering if it was possible to cancel while getting a full refund?

You can cancel at any point, I don't believe any money is taken until the PC is shipped

Normally if you cancel you will get a full refund, but you may have to redo the finance for the better deal - if you give PCS a call (noting that there will be a long wait on the phone) its possible (but I dont know) that they may be able to move the finance to a new deal but i just dont know if they can or not.

I believe email times are currently about a week (stock shortages, masses of orders, covid ...) so the phone will be much much much faster

Just to be clear as well if you do cancel the order, you will not get refunded the finance element, it will just not be set up with the finance company - you will only receive back what you personally have paid (ie the deposit element) - this is because the finance element is not completed until such time as the order is dispatched.

Any new order after the cancelling, will require deposit and a new finance application.

Amended orders are treated differently and you will need to ask PCS directly how this is done. When I amended my order slightly I chose to just pay the additional amount by card so dont know how it affects the finance element sorry.

I am not 100% sure so don't quote me on it but, from what I recall with other people cancelling and redoing and order on finance, the finance needs to be applied for again as the finance has been agreed for a set price and the new spec is a different price. But as I said, I could be wrong

Yeah I don’t know what just happened I got really inpatient bought the specification just now and got referred but got accepted instantly the last time. I’m just gonna calm it and call pcs because I may as well wait for my current spec in 16 days production.

You probably got referred because you have a current application in for the finance (accepted yes but not yet completed).

Yes I have just been accepted but it’s really annoying me I have been in queue for pcs customer service and my phone just cuts 30 mins into it and has happened three times. So I jsut get sent back to the bottom of queue.

If you have now placed your new order and are cancelling an order, I believe you can do this from your "My Accounts" page when you are logged into the website through an RMA cancellation ticket.

Just make sure you pick the right order.

if you have ordered through finance can you cancel before it gets dispatched with getting a full refund

The finance does not come into force until such time as the PC is dispatched so there will be no refund for that element, they will just not put the finance through for that order (assume we are talking about your first order).

the only element you will get refunded is your deposit amount that you paid.

You will be better off sending them an email and confirming this though but that might take a week.

So i could cancel now my order from the 5th of January and would not be given a fee and get a full refund?
