Chassis availability

Hello everyone.

I ordered a Nova laptop on the 1st of December. I recently received and email to let me know some kind of issue happened with the chassis and the build would be delayed until mid-January. It's okay, I understand these are weird times for everyone and they are not in control of supply.

But I was curious, so after some days I'm checking if there is any kind of message on the page of the Nova to let you know this. But there isn't. Is this normal? Just in case it matters, this are the specs I went with

Yeah, I would expect there to be a note on the configurator that there was an issue.

Did you receive an email notifiying you of the delay? What exactly did it say?

Yes, I did receive an email. They tried calling me but couldn't reach me since I was at work.
Keep in mind I'm translating this and therefore there is a bit of paraphrasing too.

"Good morning,

I'm contacting you to let you know that the production team has informed me that your order has been assembled, failed testing, and we won't be able to replace it until mid-January. Would you be okay waiting until then or would you prefer a completely different order for you?

I'll be awaiting your answer.

The laptop was indeed in testing (and still is), there are no notes as far as I can tell, I only see the build itself in detail, the people involved in the building process and the dates.

I'm assuming it has something to do with the chassis itself or maybe the panel, because any other component would be more easily replaceable.

I'll try and message PCSpecialist UK directly. I don't mind the wait, but maybe if it has to do with some other component I can live with it and swap it later by myself.

Yeah, I would email and find out exactly what component is causing the delay, and just query that nothing is showing as out of stock on the configurator.

It seems like there was some kind of misunderstanding between departments on their end. The laptop has now been tested and is on its way here already.

I guess there are a lot of orders right now and these kind of things happen.
