Hi to save further questions from others - you will need to add current quote price and the re configure link at the bottom. Also what monitor you currently got?

Ill let someone else comment on the desktop set up as I am more used to gaming laptops, however ,i have just made the switch to desktop myself. (Currently being built/tested by PCS as we speak so should have it soon touch wood). As for monitors whats your budget for that? :)

OK. My assumption was id be able to pick one up for £100. and that this setup wouldnt warrant anything better? thanks

It's a lot of money to spend to not really get a lot of performance from. You can certainly build a PC for around the £1000 mark with a monitor, but it's going to be massively outperformed by the likes of an XBox. The main benefit of a PC is that it can be upgraded through the years, but this requires investment in the initial build to support those future upgrades. This sort of money is put into hitting the criteria pretty much on the nose and creates a near throw-away build, save for making it like triggers brush.

I would have a think about if it's worth spending the extra to get a lesser performing PC, over Xbox, for the likes of Valorant. I know it's not available but it may be coming to console soon.

Let me know your thoughts and we can look to spec something for you.

With the monitor, a good gaming monitor will be around £150 for 1080p. You can get a functioning screen for much less, but it won't be a game targeted option.

I understand the strict budget mate but no one is really going to be recommending a system that two generations behind it's just not good value for money

you're essentially spending a lot for old spec which wouldn't be advised, I'd recommend buying the base of the modern system that you plan to upgrade over time

Is what your saying is that £850 isnt enough?

I appreciate the advice, Id assummed it wasnt enough, but also i had thought these specs would run all of the above games fine for at least a few years? no?

how much we talking for a decent enough set up for a first pc for a teenager. I may be able to put some money to it.

thanks again

Yeah knowing the exact budget really helps us mate if you're planning to add to it, we will chop and change components to try and get the best possible items to fit a budget.

I'll put together a really solid base build here that will be good for upgrading in future and if you let me know your max budget I can put together something to meet your needs and we can see the difference

Give me a couple minutes

This would be my base build with future investment planned, can turn this into a high end machine with a few upgrades

Case
LIAN LI LANCOOL 215 GAMING CASE - Solid case, big enough to house most components, plenty of airflow and good build quality
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 5 7600 Six Core CPU (4.0GHz-5.2GHz/38MB CACHE/AM5) - Super CPU, really good at the lower end of the budget
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI (DDR5, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - Allows you to upgrade to a newer AM5 CPU in future should you need it like the 7800X3D which is the best gaming CPU currently on the market for example. The 7600 is still very respectable though
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 6000MHz (2 x 16GB) - Suitable RAM for the CPU, I'd like to recommend 16GB to be honest but PCS only offer 1x16GB stick you don't want one stick of RAM in a gaming machine always 2 minimum as it will affect performance
Graphics Card
INTEGRATED GRAPHICS ACCELERATOR (GPU) - GPU is difficult to budget at this level to be honest. Would all depend on budget
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB SOLIDIGM P44 PRO GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 7000MB/sR, 6500MB/sW) - Fast M.2 Storage. Ideally you want a smaller 500GB drive as well for the OS but on a tight budget we can use one
Power Supply
CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET - This is to allow for GPU upgrades in future
Power Cable
1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead, 1.0mm Core)
Processor Cooling
PCS FrostFlow 150 Series High Performance CPU Cooler - Cooler which is fine
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
ONBOARD 2.5Gbe LAN PORT

Hopefully they will go for the xbox.

Otherwise I’ll come back to these specs and see if I can help out with the graphics card etc.

Thank you again 🙏

I have to say, this is the build I'd be suggesting for this budget. If you can spend, say, £1100, you get better value in terms of a longer-lasting system, but this is as good a gaming PC as you can hope for for the price and would do a very good job of the games you mention. Its performance might be less than that of a console (depending on the console!) but it's capable of more, including of being upgraded a decent amount. For a kid (which it sounds like?) this is what I'd do.
