The post could be cleared up because some users have asked questions. Or it could br redone.
As you can see, it started life as a general question from a user but the collection of answers we got from the community was so thorough and varied that we left it as is, everyone deserves the credit for pitching in to add their own rituals and cover all the bases 👍

I wipe every system I've ever taken into my hands. I've never had the received Windows install last longer than 2 hours in my hands. I just don't believe anyone will ever setup Windows better for me than I can myself.

I firmly believe every level of PC user should learn to do it. It's daunting, but once you have it under your belt it's a doddle. It's not like Win95 with the boot floppy, trying to figure out the complicated BIOS and being hit with a ton of complicated options. It's so straight forward now it's like updating an app.

In fact.... I would go as far to say I always install twice.

I test the system with whatever it arrives with, just to make sure I'm happy.
I wipe it and start from scratch, load in tonnes of benchmark & stress testing software. I tweak things & play with things in the registry and various other things over time to find out exactly what I want.
A few months later, once I know everything I want to do.... I wipe again and specifically do those things. That way it's as clean and untampered as I can have it.

Or you could always help with contributing to the forum and tidy it up into one post and ask the mods to sticky your post.

Perhaps take what you found helpful in that post and summarise it with links to the instructions on other posts if things are scattered or you aren’t yourself technically minded to elaborate on what to do.

Every second of help from someone else on this forum helps the volunteer mods and volunteer valued contributors get a second of their own time back to themselves and most importantly probably saves someone else minutes of their time.

You do realise I posted it a few months ago. So I'm not really bothered about it.
