Computer being too loud

Hi,
I received my computer yesterday and I'm having problem with it - it is simply too loud. I narrowed down the problem to the frontal case fan, which takes the air into the case. The front cover makes things even worse (vibrating and making noise even more annoying), so I took off the cover but the noise is still too much. By using Armoury Crate (my case is MID TOWER CORSAIR 175R RGB, my motherboard is ASUS® PRIME B550-PLUS) I can control all of the fans together (there are 4 options - from silent to full speed, and that's it) but I can't control an individual fan, however even when in silent mode, this frontal fan would not change its RPM (other fans would). It always stays at about 1400 RPM (it is called CPU_OPT). Other fans stays at 700 RPM (CPU Fan) and 1000 RPM (Chassis Fan 1). Seems fan names are off too, but never mind that.

So, what are my options?

I'm sorry to hear about this Tomaz, any chance you could trace the cable for this front fan and see if you can see where it is connected to?

Yes, it connects to CPU_OPT. The processor's fan connects to CPU_FAN, and back case fan connects to CHA_FAN1.

Do you think you could relocate the fan to a different header (any cha_fan header is fine) if you feel comfortable doing it.

I'll have a word with the building team, you have a high-RPM smaller CPU fan, we don't want a 120mm fan trying to emulate it (which is what the CPU_OPT does).

If you're happy to try this and you get it to a CHA_FAN header you will then have complete control over this through the Armory Crate.

So I did it (wired it to the "chassis 2") and I can now control it from the AI Suite 3 (which is a better software than Armoury Crate, which offers no control over individual fans, but gets instead preinstalled by PCSpecialist).

However, I'm not happy with this stock Corsair fans that came with the case, they are still too loud (I have disabled both of them right now, but my computer is not under stress currently so the temperature isn't rising really). Why wouldn't you install some better quality fans anyway? I found Noctua fans for 10 bucks on Amazon, or even "Be quiet!" for 20, and those are very quiet ones. It costs nothing, but people like me get turned off immediately from a computer like this which sound like an airplane passing if I put my fans in turbo mode. If I wouldn't be able to solve this issue, I would send the computer back and buy a new one somewhere else. It is just these little things that make all the difference, and it costs like 20 bucks (note that the computer I bought wasn't manually configured, I chose a preconfigured one from your site).

Anyway, what are my options now? Do I need to change ventilators myself or do you offer some kind of support on the issue?

I don't think that's anything to do with PCS, that would be a modification to a sold unit, PCS just supply the ordered products built into a system, they don't do any modding, that would be down to the customer.

You have the option to buy higher quality corsair or thermaltake fans when you order, but it would be up to you to fit them.

But really, if you're looking to replace case fans, then it's more that the case isn't suitable for your expectations than anything else. If you have specific requirements, it's always worth getting some build advice and highlighting your requirements.

Indeed. The 175R is a budget case. It comes with budget fans.

Thank you for trying this Tomaz. The fan fitted was the one that came with the case normally, we do offer quiet fans with the order. I've sent you a DM based on the information you've sent through, please have a look and let me know what you think.
