One of the staff filled in the rma and when they changed settings etc. I tried game again it crashed when I was on phone to them

When playing the game, the system crashes (red and green silhouette, shadow outline), the system cuts out, then restarts, back to the login screen, next crashing can be imminent when loading game up again.

- Reinstalled Windows - 5 -6 times, makes no difference.
- MemTest = Passed after 8hrs

== PCS troubleshooting ==

- Checked event viewer = NVLDDMKM.sys error
- CMD - SFC scannow = NFF (Last done was Wednesday 26/01/22)
- Set max processor state to 95%

- Disabled fastboot in the control panel

- Restarted computer, made changes, played gamed for < 5 minutes, crashed, black screen (red and green silhouette of the game character), the system then shuts down and cuts out, then restarts.

- Customer has tried to downclock the RAM, which made no difference
That's pretty thorough notes then.

The problem is that the NVLDDMKM.sys error is a completely normal error, and any tech would know that.

What are the notes on the RMA?

They not put any notes on yet. I phoned up yesterday for update. They said tech bloke been working on since Monday. Got told it was either faulty gpu or overheating. Then got told to phone back today for another update. Phoned up. Got told they can't find any fault. So I told them I got told it was either overheating or faulty gpu. And that no notes been updated. I said what happens then if cant find issue. They will keep working on it till they find fault...

I would stop calling them and wait for the RMA notes to be updated, it's not gonna help constantly phoning them, remember, the telephone service are not at the office and there's likely to be miscommunication.

Wait for the RMA to be complete and the notes updated. And don't keep phoning them, that won't help.

Oh, ok, that's ok then.

Well, the thing is, from the symptoms that the guy who remoted on posted, that wasn't an issue, it's was a basic driver error. That's just a windows config issue. Where did you install the nvidia drivers from?

The official nvidia website where I always download them. Then when I was having issues I went into safe mode and I ran ddu and uninstalled all the drivers. Reinstalled drivers again. Was still havinh issues. Then when I was on phone about the issue. One of the team took control of my computer via remote assist. Updated all drivers and was crashing for him

@moosEh @Monarch This has been ongoing for a long time now, is there anything that could be done?

At least if there were notes on the RMA then we could verify what steps they've taken, this likely points to something being installed or a peripheral perhaps that's causing instability, but with some notes it would be easier to verify.

I wouldn't mind. But been sent back twice now. Got told it could be my razer keyboard and mouse that was causing issue aswell. That is reason I went and bought corsair k100 keyboard and new corsair mouse. Then got told faulty gpu or overheating. Then cant find anything wrong lol. I never update drivers or windows as got told no reason to do them everytime. Then I get told I need to update everytime. When I installed gpu drivers I did it via ddu in safe mode. Disconnected Internet and reinstalled drivers. Fast start up I got told to disable. Then I get told it needs to be on. So not sure what to believe or do anymore.
My last computer I got from this company. Had over 3 year now I believe and sold to mate and still working as I got it with all same parts lol. I used all the same stuff ( webcam. Keyboard. Mouse etc) on my 1st pc

just take it steady and make sure you install all updates etc before installing anything else, then one program/game at a time, that way if anything does play up, its got to be the last thing that was installed

I run both, and don't have issues. I would install iCUE first, then Crate, and then in iCue Settings, uncheck enable plugins option That way iCUE will manage only items connected to your commander, and crate will manage anything connected to Motherboard.

I'd second this, but get windows and all updates installed first (including optional updates) before you even think about stuff like that
