Console to PC newbie

Hi guys,

I'm making the switch from console to PC, honestly I'm not sure if i will like it. However i have always played football manager and having needed to upgrade my PC i thought this would be a good time to see what other games i will like on PC. I play Warzone on Xbox at the moment however id like to try it on PC. I've just got my new PC and was wondering if the spec was suitable for warzone or not? It not what would be required? Also, can anybody recommend any games to play that would show off PC over console?

Hi @dslaater87 if you could edit your post to include the configurable link that would be helpful.

What is your budget and do you need a monitor with this build?

I have already brought the build from PCS, it has been working for me really well but my question was what should i be looking to upgrade in the future to play games such as Warzone. Maybe upgrading the RAM and graphics card? Just after any advice or recommendations of what to think about for the future rather then right now

No problem,

I think i may upgrade the RAM first of all anyway regardless of playing Warzone so will look into that and start saving.
My monitor is the 144Hz so i may look into investing in a better graphics card as well. Should i invest into cooling as well or would that be required later on?

Thanks again

David

Ok thank you.

My idea of getting a PC is hopefully opening me up to a world of new games for me to try out. Warzone was fine but happy to try something else out now.

Yeah that was what i noticed first and foremost, the lack of cooling was surprising to be honest. Will have a look to see what i can upgrade cooling wise and then RAM.

Thanks again for your help. Complete novice so looking to the experienced for help and you have certainly provided that.

Would you be able to get recommend some good cooling for this system? Id like to do that first, are they easy enough to fit as well?

How long have you had the PC? The reason I ask is there may be an opportunity to send it back and have a better system overall such as the one @Nursemorph suggested above. It's considerably better from every angle and has a far better upgrade path open to you.

The 350W PSU is going to seriously restrict any GPU upgrades to be honest.

Possibly but its also £400 more then what i wanted to spend. I think i may send it back and wait until end of October and see what comes out. I think my maximum budget will be £800 at a push however i already have a decent monitor so it would just be the PC build.

I was thinking of what you have spent already along with the spend required to bring it up to snuff hardware wise. It's really not a level of system that any of us would recommend. The console is always going to win sub £1k.
