Corsair iCue 5000x fans?

Hi,

Build is 3080 RTX / Ryzen 7 5800x / ROG Strix 570-F.

The iCue 5000x case I've ordered has space for:

- x3 120mm fans on the front (or x2 140mm)
- x3 120mm on the side
- x3 120mm on the top (or x2 140mm)
- x1 120mm on the back

The case includes the x3 on the front.

I've added a Corsair H100i CPU cooler - where does this sit? at the top? Does this take up the top 3 fan spaces?

How many more fans do I order? x4 Sickleflow 120mm? Or do I get x3 Corsair LL120? The other option is x5 Corsair LL120 but would I have x1 too many?

Would all fans sync up with RGB?

Does that all work? Do I even need that many fans?

Thanks in advance.

I couldnt even spot it on the Corsair webpage... although I did notice you get quite a bargain through PCS on it!
£155 pricetag on their site, almost a third off at £103 on the configurator.

Worth a visit though, the case packs quite a punch...

Only bit I see where it refers to the two included fans, its calls them Airguide Fans.

Thats even more of a bargain...£123 instead of £185, its only the fans that are different right?
A google brings up a reddit page about them, apparently SP RGB Pro are their closest match.

Its an odd setup with the side fans ill admit, but its packed full of features. Practically build your own server inside it lol

Same case here, apparently SP120 RGB PROs will just spin at 100% if you connect them with existing fans which are SP120 RGB ELITE and therefore they have 4 pins unlike PROs with 3 pins. You cannot buy them new so I just bought 3 elite fans of ebay from someone who has 4000x case and he swapped them for different ones so he didn't need them. I'll definitely fit one as an exhaust at the back and I might fit another one or two on the side as an extra intake.

Is it just a case of time till the elites are sold in retail normally then perhaps?
Odd they would put fans in that you couldnt get more of, in a system thats fan crazy... How new is the case?

I believe Corsair is about to release them fans for sale later this month, that's what I was able to find out anyway, I hope the ones I've bought will work for me.

This is my first build so just understanding how things work. Is having the PROs run at 100% an issue?

Hey I'm a noob too so I just try to learn as I go. This is my first pc in over 15 years, it's just gonna be annoyingly loud for you and there is no need for fans to run at constant full speed 🙂

I'm maybe going to rethink this case then. I like the look of all the glass.

You got any thoughts on the lian li pc-o11 dynamic? PCS don't stock it but am tempted to buy one and send it in.

No idea. You just have to do some research, watch some reviews and read some opinions that should give you an idea.

5000X can fit a lot of fans:
1 rear
3 120mm on the roof
3 120mm on front
3 120mm on side

AIO i believe comes with ML120 fans and will be fitted to the roof. So if you buy an extra 5, they will be fitted most likely... 1 rear exhaust, 1 more on roof and 3 on the side.

issue with that many fans, is i’m not sure how many light nodes/commander nodes you will have and how they will sync them.

i’d personally just buy a single 120mm for rear exhaust and mount it myself. You just screw it in and connect it to the lighting node.
