Once a day - When I first turn on my machine for work or gaming, the PC will dead boot. Fans will just spin. I left it for 5 mins one day and it didnt POST at all.
I dont get any POST codes either on the MB.

I can shut the PC down and power it back up and either one of 2 things will happen.
It will POST on 2nd boot or it will shut itself down a 2nd time and then POST on 3rd boot guaranteed.

I can then power off my PC multiple times during the day and switch it back on - Never have the issue again... Until...

I power it up for the 1st time next day and the cycle repeats.

---------------------------------

It has no OC, everything is set to standard and no special config. I have added a 960Gb SSD for a boot device but beyond that it did this on the 1st day before it was added. Its not normal but I cant be without my PC for work reasons as most people cant working from home.

I get no video output on Dead Boot / 1st Boot Cycle. I would expect the issue to be consistent if there was a HDW Failure but I dont know on this one - It has me stumped.

I might take the 5700XT out and revert back to me GTX 1080 temporarily to see if that makes a difference but has anyone ever seen this happen?

It's possible that as it warms after the first failed boot something is expanding enough to make proper contact.

Do you get any beeps on first boot?

Stuff does sometimes move in transit so it's worth popping the cards and the RAM out and reinserting them fully.

Ill consider this tomorrow when I'm home. But it would be odd because the machine isn't on for long enough to warm up if you catch my drift. It should boot 1st time every time.

My money is in the 5700XT... I've found other threads on reddit and AMDs forums about it not booting similar to my issue.

Tomorrow I'm gonna flip it to a GTX 1080 i have spare and see if it boots.

The issue only occurs on cold boots when the PC has been off for sometime...

As you have an Intel system, you could just remove the GPU and plug the monitor directly into the motherboard HDMI/DP slot...saves inserting another GPU. See if it boots that way...if it boots fine on the iGPU then try with your 1080 to make sure it's not the PCI-e lane that's faulty
That thought did cross my mind because of the iGPU...
However I'm dead cert it's the 5700XT because if the PCIe lane was bust, it would not work 100% of the time

Problem is I wouldn't go back to AMD and PCS don't have any stock of the 20xx or 30xx at the moment.

I've seen countless threads on black screen and not POSTing across Reddit and AMD Community Forums.

PCIe being flaky also wouldn't be consistent in the way that my machine currently is. It will POST by Boot 2 or 3 and will not repeat the issue again no matter how many times I reboot it.

Well, yeah, that is the biggest issue you have.....guess you'd need to discuss it with PCS and see what they say. No clue on your work and what it involves but would the 1080 be good enough to tide you over? There are 3070s coming in the next few weeks so they may have something available..just depends how many they get versus orders.
Yee... If they have stock but just not showing it etc then sure.
Im hopeful they do as I'd settle for a 2070 / 2080 fine

1080.. Possibly... I was going to donate my PC to a Colleague but now this had come up it leaves it in a bit of a quandary.

Will be interesting to see what the issue, have seen similar with CPU not making good contact.

Sometimes a simple clean and reseat sorts it, would leave all that to PC Specialists, it’s why we have warranty.

good luck and hopefully not a major problem.
