Defiance V VS Octane V Help!

Honestly...fingerprint readers do that.

I either own or work with Dell's, Lenovo's, HP's and of course PCS and at one time or another they ALL point blank refuse to read my (or anyone else's for that matter) fingerprint and I have to temporarily revert to the PIN or password.

They seem particularly uppity if I've just washed my hands.

Ah Ok, if that's the case I'll not bother wasting time making a thread about it. It's no big deal really but is nice when it works though.

Oh I agree - it's a nice convenience to have and can be frustrating when it doesn't work several times but yeah my experience and that of my colleagues is be prepared for them to be quite fussy. At random. :)

Do you have any experience with facial recognition? Is it just as flaky (I stopped using fingerprint sensors too)?

We only trialled a couple of machines here that could use it.

It seemed to be pretty reliable but on the Lenovo devices we have, it hammered the battery life as the IR sensors by the camera were always on, waiting.

I did like the story about facial recognition letting you unlock the phone with a photo of the owner's face taped to your head...

Although I suppose that means it does work.

Wow...That's a huge fail on OnePlus.

I can tell you that Windows Hello facial recog uses IR sensors beside the camera to ensure that the subject in question is alive. I am lead to believe that the sensors are supposed to spot blood flow, not just heat, but...

And a full blood count test too apparently..... :whistling:

I guess you can test that first by holding a photo of yourself up, and then holding a photo of yourself up with a lit match. If it unlocks, top kek.
