Rather than getting a sub-optimal case and trying to mitigate with adding more fans (which ultimately doesn't change the case's design), it's usually better to just a more effective case.

Until recently, PCS sold the Fractal Meshify C. You could use the Send in your own case option to give them one of those, or ask if they could order one in for you. That should be a decent case for noise, is very good for cooling, and has a very modest footprint for an ATX case

I say! That's a nice bit of kit, and as you say, a small(er) case overall.
I've been going around in circles, sometimes thinking I should build it myself, other times changing the spec when I refresh the quote but it's about time I "pulled the trigger" and got the build started.

Another query re card manufacturer, i noticed in my order for 10GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 - HDMI that its marked as a non founders edition, but nowhere in any of the order details can i see the actual make, is there a way to find out what manufacturer is currently being sold?

If you order a generic card, it can pretty much be any make or model, but usually Palit or Zotac, often Gigabyte also.

If you want a specific card, then you need to either select a Strix or source your own and select "have my own graphics card" in the configurator.

Hello everyone,

I would love to share some information that may helps all of you. I hope people from PcSpecialist don't get mad at me.
I've ordered a computer at the beginning of February with an RTX 3080 assuming that it will take quite a lot time due to low stock issue with RTX 30 series and specially with 3080 one.

After 26 day in pre-production, read in this forum that some people is on 90+ days of pre-production, I've decided to try to go somewhere else locally. I asked for the same building but the price was €1000 more (3080 prices are crazy they said).
Looking at this panorama, I've start to think. "if I pay 1000 more just to have it earlier, it is worth to check if the waiting time for the 3090 is the same."
Also, I thought about going for the 3070 because in the end, unless you are looking for something powerful but not TOOOOO expensive like the 3090, you need the 3080. In my case I think that the 3070 is powerful enough for what I want and, in the future, I can change it if I want.

I talked to one of the lads via live chat and the said to me that PcSpecialist has a huge amount of orders with 3080. 3 times more than orders with 3070 and 7 times more than the 3090. Which ends up on more waiting time on 3080s.

At the moment they are working on beginning of November orders approximately so, you can make your maths. They said to me that for a 26 working days order, it will be 2 or 3 months minimum. 3080 are having really troubles to re-stock in every country and you can see 3070 and 3090 to pick on custom buildings (in other countries websites) so, if you would like to have your pc soon, you might sacrifice some money (3090) or some power (3070) for it.

I decided to change my order to 3070 and with the difference I upgrade the i7 10700k to a i9 10850k, add 16gb of ram and some other optional bits.

My order is waiting for being dispatched on my 28 working day.

The 6700XT is considerably cheaper than the 3070 (as of this moment) and from the looks of it... very similar in performance. AMD have had driver issues in the past though. 3070 is a fantastic card

The 6070XT is closer to the 3060ti in terms of frame rate. I'd be going with the 3070 every time, for better drivers, better frame rates, and DLSS.

I've just swapped my 3060 ti to a 6700XT. I saved £55 from the switch. If I went to the 3070 it adds £112 extra. The difference between the 3060ti and the 3070 is around 10-15% at best and it's not worth (to me) the extra £112 (£167 difference now I've switched cards)

The 6700xt I hear has better availability and is in between the 3060 ti and 3070 in performance terms (yes poor Ray tracing and no DLSS though) so since I game at 2k/60hz for the moment and I have a backlog of older games to play, I think I made the right choice. I can still play the latest games at high/max detail (2k/60hz) with exception of a few titles like Cyberpunk.

In a few years time when I buy a more substantial card for 4k gaming at a higher refresh rate, It wouldn't matter what I have, whether 3060 ti, 6700xt or 3070 because they would all be obsolete enough to warrant an upgrade.

I just did the same thing and ordered a system last night with a 6700XT. Was hoping for a 3080 for my build but I'm not paying mad prices for one. The 6700XT is available right now without much of a mark up and will keep me going till next year when things may have calmed down.

It can't be worse than the Vega56 I have now (not to mention i5-3470)

Not sure if this is already being done as I can't fine any definitive answers on the forums, but it would be helpful if a member of the PCSpecialist sales/customer service team posted a weekly/monthly update on the estimated availability of graphics cards for the near future as supply seems to be in a state of flux for the forseeable future. It would help with ongoing orders and clearing backlogs maybe?

It’s not something that can be done, it’s been outlined in the stickies as to why.

You would stay in the same position, just for the card you've selected. If everyone else who has gone for the card you've switched to is below 42 days pre-production then yours will be up next to build

If you buy the generic listing, then it's pot luck as to what make and model you get, usually Palit or Zotac, but could be whatever they have at the time. If you specifically want an Asus card, then you can select the premium Asus listing.

If anyone is desperate to get a 3060Ti (given they are out of stock at PCS), wander over to Bolton and some Zotacs are at £460. Also Gigabyte 3060 at £420. Doubt they will hang around long though.
