Desktop Replacement - 17.3" VYPER - 3D - Cad - Gaming

Hello People!

Can I ask you a feed-back about this laptop please?
I will use it for: 3D - Cad - Gaming.

My main concern is if the case is good and if it is well cooled.
Do you have any comments about the configuration?

In addition to that, I will need indicatively 500GB of storage, is it fine to use just 1 mSata for everything (S.O. + Storage)?
Is it a "durable" choice? Can I "damage" the mSata with many reading/writing? I'm a little bit "out-of-date" I'm using an old SSD on my actual laptop, and I'm not sure if a second HDD is the best option, but this frame/case doesn't allow that.

Many Thanks! And have a good week-end!

P.S.: I read of some problems with the Vyper 17 (this case) using it with just the battery. Is it that bad? Is it going to be fixed?

I'm open to other configurations or cases!!!

Vyper Series: 17.3" Matte Full HD 144Hz 72% NTSC LED Widescreen (1920x1080)

Intel® Core™ i7 Eight Core Processor 10875H (2.3GHz, 5.1GHz Turbo)

32GB Corsair 2666MHz SODIMM DDR4 (1 x 32GB)

NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2070 - 8.0GB GDDR6 Video RAM - DirectX® 12.1

1TB SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 3500MB/R, 3300MB/W)

MX-4 EXTREME THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY COMPOUND

Total = £1600,00

RAM: You want to change that to 2x16GB...RAM works better when in pairs rather than singularly.

Hard drive: Not fully understanding you there as you mention 500GB while the drive listed is 1TB? Are we talking a second drive?

Battery: WHat issues have you read about? I don't recall reading about any issues beyond that battery life isn't the longest...but then that is the same with all performance laptops that have a dedicated graphics card
Basically I would like to know if the msata have improved in the last years.
When I bought my 850evo an HDD was bette for storage due to its durability.

Regarding the ram, I would buy a 32 to do an upgrade if required. Is it a noticeably better having 2 slot instead of one?

Regarding the case's problem I read about the bad performance in battery mode, just a couple of topic below.

Msata was taken over by M2. Msata was off the SATA bus, whereas M2 runs directly off PCIe, so significantly faster. It’s also a different connector, msata isn’t supported anymore.

But for storage we’d always recommend an HDD if the chassis can support one, they fail gradually whereas any ssd faces catastrophic failure.

RAM is dual channel so does benefit off 2 DIMMS.

The Vyper is currently facing gpu performance issues on battery to do with low voltage output, this should be addressed in a bios update.

Can I ask you the differences between all those laptops?
They look quite similar... Is it the same case?
The pro and elite ones are in desktop replacement. The vyper one not.

Am I the only one confused?

Just bought this one, I hope the Bios problem will be sorted a.s.a.p.!
Could you give me a feedback about the configuration? Just to know if I've done anything wrong :)

PCS updated us the other day to say they've got an update ready, so hopefully it should already be applied to yours once you receive it.

Spec looks good otherwise.
