Desktop Spec Help

Hello,

I am looking at upgrading my existing system in 2021. I previously bought a PC Specialist custom build and it has done me well however it may be time for a change.

I currently play Warzone as my main game however I have to play with almost every setting on very low. I have been told this game in particular is very taxing on machines and can't find any information online about the requirement's to run it with higher settings. My biggest issue is when looking at things from far away things as pixelated and jaggy at times although it does run smoothly. I currently get about 80 FPS on low settings.

I have a budget of around £1500 give or take.

1. I want to be able to play this game with better settings so it looks cleaner, smoother and less jagged. I understand its not just the GPU that needs to be considered for this game in particular.
2. I want to be able to do some light video editing. (I am starting a YouTube channel for my puppy and will be posting short videos that I will edit myself - nothing taxing at all)
3. It needs to have a lot of memory. One of the biggest issues I had with my old machine is that it ran out of space quickly due to downloading warzone, fortnite etc. I ended up buying a USB portable one to store files on but it can be very slow to load and download onto.
4. My existing monitor is not great so this would probably need replacing as well. Ideally I would like a one at 144hz

Kind regards
Steven

When you say lots of memory, what’s the starting point, do you currently have 4,8 or 16GB’s?

does the £1500 include the monitor or do you have another budget for that
In an ideal world it would be included in the budget but if it was not possible I would buy this separate.

I had 8gb but I ended up having to buy an upgrade this to 16gb in my own machine as it clearly wasnt enough

I think he means storage not memory. He's talking about a 'USB portable one'....
Correct - I need a high amount of storage

I don't know a lot about computers but most machines that are advertised have significantly less than 2TB.

I do appreciate the helpful and very insightful post though
total drives on my desktop = about 8TB, however i do, do a lot of video work, and video files do use a lot of space
