:) I have 2 GTX 680 in SLI and I have never experienced any issues, really easy to set up and disable if needed.

Same here never had an issue with 2 X 680s SLI , Also a GTX690 is in fact two 680s on one PCB SLI (BUT THEY ARE DOWN CLOCKED) ,
this is why 2 GTX 680s will outperform it , no matter what the choice you will be fine , remember us pc gamers are mostly playing console ports anyway
(75% of games are) & even the new console ports are not going to tax a GTX690 , 2X 670s or 2X 680s :)

Well, aside from the whole 2x680 vs 690 discussion (which I'll leave to others) the rest of the build looks fine for a top end spec.

Forgot one thing, What about the network card? Now I see the killer card is no longer on the list... :(

I was originally going to get a killer network card but removed it from my rig after reading that the gigabit lan on the motherboard was entirely sufficient for online gaming (I live near Aberdeen and the internet isn't great here anyway).

If you are going to connect through an ethernet cable you probably don't need a dedicated network card. If not (due to the length of the cable etc.) maybe consider using homeplugs?
