Fresh install of windows done, screen was working after and continued to work after several restarts. Then this morning it was back to square one, monitor goes to power saver mode, the computer sees that its there and displays its stats but it still wont come out of power saver mode.
Where did you source drivers? Can you post a screenshot of your optional updates page?

What drivers were missing and did you go to the manufacturers website first?

Also, its still showing that some updates are outstanding?

Have you tried the monitor on its own for a while - ie unplug your original monitor.

Lets rule out that its not the monitor causing this

Can you also screen shot your Device Manager with the Monitors and the Display Adaptors section expanded out.

Yup tried that, same thing happens when the monitor is used alone it goes into power saver after the bios screen. I initially thought the monitor was a dud until i stumbled upon the work around of connecting the wire to my primary first.

Just had a thought - have you checked that Windows is set to the correct refresh rate for this monitor?

I believe so

So you see Windows load up and then the monitor just goes to sleep as no signal received?

I turn on the comp and the PCSpecialist logo comes up with "hit f2 for Bios" and after that a black screen with a power saver mode popup

If thats mistaken do you know how id tell which it is?
Display port to VGA adapters NEED to be active as it has to convert analogue to digital.

Where did you source it? I would say it's likely the adapter at a guess.

But to be honest, that monitor is so poor, I wouldn't bother wasting any time on it, a lot of programs (iCue) for example probably wouldn't even be small enough to display on it.

Any analogue monitor (CRT excluded) is basically pointless nowadays.

Certainly agree that its not worth any money or even effort buyt I can't help myself when something should seemingly work but doesn't I start to hyperfocus on either making it work or at least figuring out why
