Hi, I had this issue pop up recently out of nowhere, unsure even about how it first started, and it doesn't seem to have happened after cleaning. From what I have noticed is that the laptop might not be detecting the heat, and I have felt it reach quite big temperatures cuz of it. The fans themselves work if I start turbo manually, but the automated part of the whole thing doesn't seem to. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong?

Is control center installed ok? Are you still on Windows 10 or have you updated to 11?
Center seems to work OK, I haven't touched it since I got it. Still on Windows 10, I'm avoiding 11

I believe the fans are controlled via control center, it's possible an update has borked it but you should be able to tell just from opening it if it's running ok.
Another possibility is that temps are just high because it needs servicing and the lower fan profiles just aren't sufficient because the past is old and dried up, you can verify this with HWMonitor to monitor temps under load with fans full throttle.
Any reason you're avoiding Windows 11?
I avoid 11 because I have been told a lot of games break on it
When I said fans don't work I meant they don't even spin unless I have turbo on
Also, in regards to paste, I tried replacing it, but I found it impossible to disassemble the inner cover. Some parts also screwed in too hard for me to do manually.

Any examples? I'm not aware of any compatibility issues on games, afaik any game that works on windows 10 works the same on 11
In the early days it had performance issues, but that's the same with any new OS before it receives the first major update really.

ok, so... fans started working again for some reason....
do PCS laptops have some sort of button combo that disables fans or something?? literally noticed it just now that they are back online haha
