FedEx being weird

As an update and after several calls with both FedEx and PCSpecialists, they have no idea where my package is or when it will arrive.
It has been Updated delivery: Pending , IN TRANSIT STANSTED, ES since the beginning of last week.
The PC was originally supposed to arrive in November and I ordered it once the Alder Lake chips came out. I also had to downgrade and change the DDR5 RAM at the request of PCSpecialist.
I hope at this rate it arrives in January undamaged.

Just adding a kinda +1 to this, estimated delivery for Monday (21st) but has been in “Stansted, ES” since Wednesday. All Fedex have said is that once it clears customs it’ll be delivered in a working days so we’ll see I guess 🤷‍♂️

Got similar situation since the date of delivery by Fedex 16/12/21 no any update or info, PCS should consider changing the shipping company as Fedex is rubbish

The reality is that there are very few companies willing to navigate the troubles since brexit, most UK to Europe companies pulled out of european deliveries because of the red tape.

PCS used to use DPD for european deliveries.

Unfortunately there's not much choice at the moment.

Unfortunately true, the only good think is that many on this forum stated that the order finally arrived undamaged, so trying to be patient

I know, it sucks, many positive vibes going out to you all, just praying it gets to you for Christmas.

If you haven't done so already, do raise it with PCS as they are able to chase Fedex in a way that you won't be able to.

Done it already but received only this "Unfortunately from what we can gather fedex are experiencing delays at the moment which are out of our control in regards to brexit and back logs which have set many packages back in this case so unfortunately this would be a case of waiting." So everything is to be blamed on Brexit and Omikron the son of Covid &Delta:p:D:LOL::eek:

My own FedEx adventure: Left PCS on the 8th Dec and arrived in Dublin on 10th. No update on status on Fedex.com after it left Stansted, so rang FedEx after the weekend to see what the story was. They said it was with customs on Monday 11th and would take a few days to clear. Fair enough, a well known by product of Brexit, etc. Released back to FedEx on Friday 17th, but missed that morning's van run. Went out for delivery on Saturday morning, but 2 hours later was updated to say they attempted delivery, which they most definitely did not. Come Monday, I'd given up hope of it arriving that day, as FedEx was still showing as delayed, but lo and behold that afternoon it arrived. Website didn't even show it out for delivery, and was only updated as delivered the following day.

A frustrating experience, would have been lessened somewhat if they had at least accurate status updates on their tracker. Grateful it's here now, fingers crossed for the rest of you still waiting!

Me too... Mine was shipped on the 10/12 - Arrived in Stansted 12/12 and has stayed at that status ever since.
I was initially delighted by pcspecialist support and customer service, but despite numerous mails to them I feel they have turned their back on me and just seem to be shrugging their shoulders. I relayed to them that this forum thread has been there since February this year and continues to this day, surely for their own sanity and that of their customers they would seek to resolve or seek alternatives. I have no idea when my very expensive PC will arrive, where it is now and what condition it will arrive in. Real pity Pcspecialist management team.

To be fair to PCS, they do the best they can. The delay in logistics is not unique to them. I suspect the fact that each build is unique adds complexity to the customs, various a set inventory of skus.

Although I do agree IRLRobinS, I do feel slightly aggrieved myself that there wasn’t at the very least a warning of “hey look this might take a while in customs” before you order since this is clearly affecting many shipments into Ireland. I certainly wouldn’t have been plastering “Guaranteed delivery before Christmas” considering this is looking more and more unlikely..

I have the exact same problem as many seem to have above. Shipped from the UK on the 10th, sitting in Stansted since the 11th. I've contacted the FedEx support several times via chat and have been told it would arrive by the end of the (last) week, it's stuck in a hub, it's sitting in customs, it will definitely arrive before christmas etc etc.
I contacted PCS and also got the "it's out of our hands"-reply, but they gave me an email address ([email protected]) which at least resulted in a prompt answer and a case number of their investigation to refer to. They asked me a few questions (content, value etc). Funny thing is that in the last week alone I had several (big) packages from the UK clear customs within hours using other carriers, but FedEx seems to be unable to get it done. Quite disappointing. So much for the PCS "receive your order before christmas" promise :(

There seem to be a lot of people pointing the finger at PCS here.

Once PCS have completed your order and handed it to FedEx there isn't a huge amount they can do about any snags in the logistics.

Whilst I fully appreciate its frustrating having to wait ages for your brand new computer to be delivered, you are ordering very expensive computers from a completely different country outside of the European Union, I'm not entirely sure what you were expecting.

If I ordered a custom built computer from another country I'd expect it to take an absolute age to be delivered.

*Edit* - Just so we are all on the same page here I do fully appreciate FedEx are shocking.
I can appreciate that view but would like to disagree.
The order was placed on pcspecialist.ie and they advertised their "receive your order before christmas" promise prominently on the front page. FedEx is also their chosen provider and as I wrote above, other carriers don't seem to have the problem at all (e.g. DPD delivery cleared customs within 2h). So while they have fulfilled their part, PCS can't completely remove themselves from the issue.

Fair one but PCS sent your package in plenty of time and its now stuck in the custom procedure for Ireland. That is not PCS's fault.

You say DPD cleared customers in 2 hrs, that's great but has absolutely no context at all. What was it that cleared customs?

Like I said ordering extremely expensive and bulky electronic equipment from another country is not likely going to be a quick process.

It was a package quite similar in content (IT equipment), size and value, so I think it is comparable. By now FedEx is asking for more details for their investigation (content, weight, value, type of packaging).
Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming PCS for the issue overall, this is all FedEx, but I am disappointed by the reply which implies they don't really seem to care and still seem to stay with a carrier that seems to have issues reported since February. The very least I would expect would be a "we'll look into the issue and reach out to FedEx for clarification" as they likely have different avenues of escalation with the carrier than the recipients.

Yeah I agree with both of yas basically, but in fairness PCS probably shouldn't have advertised the delivery before Christmas thing on the .ie page, or at least added a clause to it if the parcels are being delivered abroad, especially given these FedEx issues are going back a good while. Also mine actually cleared Irish customs quite quickly apparently, it's just been stuck in the FedEx backlog since

But yeah for me PCS have been excellent overall it's just FedEx that's the main issue for me

I do get your frustration. I assume PCS still use FedEx for a valid reason, like everyone else on here I can only speculate on that.

If you aren't happy with the responses you are receiving from your enquiries, PCS do have an extremely effective and robust complaints procedure.
