Feedback on PC specifications

So I'm wanting to get a new PC, although would like feedback on the specifications before I make any order (See below).
I'll be using it for both games and also personal & education stuff; although I do play a lot of games, some of which are quite high performance, so it's definitely going more toward the gaming PC side of things.
Another thing is for the USB ports; I use up to 4 USBs at any one time, plus a USB-C; would it better to use a different USB selection? Or would I just be better off getting an external USB tower/block and using that.
Anyways, any feedback and suggestions as a whole would be appreciated, thank you in advance!

This post may help you to answer some of the questions you're likely to be asked by the volunteer helpers on here...

Mainly:
  1. What's your MAX budget (that you can't go over, as we don't want to have to reconfigure each time you ask us to save £100 or you've suddenly found an extra £100 down the back of the sofa)
  2. What monitor (make & model, or resolution, refresh rate, response time, panel type) - as this will define the GPU
  3. Do you have any preference around case aesthetics (i.e. glass/metal/mix, size, RGB, white/black/pink paint)
  4. Normally, we'd as you to add the link to your configuration, but seeing as no-one will recommend an Intel build at the moment (especially a 4 generation old one) it's a moot point

1. Max budget would ideally not take it above £1,700; although I can go up to £2000
2. For a monitor; I currently use a Lenovo 1920x1080 67.6KHz/60Hz; although I intend to eventually buy new monitors, though I don't have a preference at this time.
3. For case aesthetic, I want the one listed "FRACTAL NORTH TG GAMING CASE (BLACK)"
4. I can provide the link anyway, no particular reason not to: Configuration

How 'eventually' are you buying a new monitor(s)? Is it / are they going to be 1080p as well?

Here's a decent 1080p build for just over your lower budget. I'll do another for a 1440p build (which would need a decent 1440p monitor too) to the £200 max budget.

Case
FRACTAL NORTH TG GAMING CASE (BLACK) - case size makes some combinations of cooler and GPU impossible (the XL version mitigates this)
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 9700X Eight Core CPU (3.8GHz-5.5GHz/40MB CACHE/AM5) - this is a PLACEHOLDER for the 9800X3D (or 7800X3D if the 9800X3D comes out significantly more expensive)
Motherboard
GIGABYTE X870 EAGLE WIFI7 (AM5, DDR5, M.2 PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 7) - current gen motherboard with USB4, wifi 7 and PCIe 5 (for GPUs and m.2 slots)
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz (2 x 16GB) - sweet spot RAM speed for AMD AM5 CPUs
Graphics Card
12GB GIGABYTE RADEON™ RX 7700 XT GAMING OC - 2 x HDMI, 2 x DP - decent 1080p card, faster than the equivalent priced Nvidia GPUs (i.e. the 4060/4060Ti)
1st M.2 SSD Drive
512GB SOLIDIGM P44 PRO GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 7000MB/sR, 4700MB/sW) - very fast primary drive for Windows, apps, game launchers ONLY (to keep your large game installs safe on a secondary drive, and avoid losing them if Windows gets corrupted or the SSD dies)
1st M.2 SSD Drive
2TB SOLIDIGM P41+ GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 4125MB/sR, 3325MB/sW) - fast, secondary drive for game installs (and documents if you follow good housekeeping guidelines and keep your user folder away from your primary drive); could add a HDD if you want space for media storage
Power Supply
CORSAIR 750W RMe SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET - about the lowest level of the new ATX3.1 PSUs you can fit - and suitable for a 1080p build (not as much room for a beefy GPU upgrade down the line though)
Power Cable
1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
CORSAIR iCUE H100i ELITE CAPELLIX XT RGB High Performance CPU Cooler - decent AIO liquid cooler (would prefer the H115i, but the case doesn't support it with a long GPU)
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
ONBOARD 2.5Gbe LAN PORT
Wireless Network Card
NONE OR ONBOARD Wi-Fi (MOTHERBOARD DEPENDENT)

Yeah they'll more than likely be 1080p, since I'm not really demanding enough and that quality has served me well up till now anyways

I'll probably see about this config then, and speak to a couple friends about it too; but otherwise thanks a bunch for the input

I would suggest upping the PSU to the 1200W Shift model as it's an ATX 3 and will open up your options when it comes to upgrading the GPU

1080p is really on the way out nowadays, it's so poor and hardware is generally overpowered for it nowadays. And your needs and budget will greatly shift over the lifetime of that system (10 years)

But you won't really understand how restrictive it is until you see 1440p next to a 1080p for real estate, and then see graphics quality. 1080p really is a very poor experience
