Someone has realised the dropped a clanger. I reckon they are going to have to change the pricing. I like to think if they stick with the £70 gamers are going to ignore it until its in the sale.
I reckon you are probably right

Hopefully they'll get a massive review bomb as soon as it goes live, that seems to be the only thing that shakes publishers into rethinking their marketing strategies.

Definitely right there. Its such a shame that gaming is now owned by investors. Remember the day when people made amazing games because they enjoy making games. Not because it was the best way to monetise their audience.

This is why I get so excited when I see a game on somewhere like Kickstarter, these are tiny developing teams that don't have the financial backing, but have a great idea and huge amounts of passion to achieve, just need public backing.

Producers like No Man's Sky, despite the issues they had, they have achieved something quite remarkable while remaining independent.

Well if you look at No Mans Sky they have absolutely hit it out of the park now. Yes the game had issues when it launched but the amount of support they have provided it over the years is ridiculous. And funny old thing the released the updates as patches not paid for DLC.

Exactly. Took them a while, but they've certainly fulfilled all their promises and surpassed them, and they're by no means done yet.

And they are a surprisingly small team, originally only about a dozen devs, after release I believe they expanded a bit to keep up with the pressure, but I don't believe by much.

The fact that it's all procedurally generated is quite frankly amazing. Even the music is!

I’ve just decided to go to Morrisons and spend £70 on booze for Christmas instead of FF7. My trolley looks very unhealthy.

Rookie numbers mate, get the Tesco club card points out and still blow over £100 on booze
I specifically chose that number as a protest against Square’s decision to price FF7 so annoyingly high 😜

Hang on, I’ve just had a thought (I bet you were wondering what that noise was).

If I’m remembering things correctly, last year when Epic started their fifteen days of Christmas giveaway they also gave you a £10 off coupon to use against any game over £13.99.

Their Christmas giveaway starts tomorrow and FF7 releases tomorrow… so if that £10 off voucher happens again, that could bring the price down to a still expensive but slightly less distasteful £55.

Hmmm…
