First new rig in 10 years - is this spec ok?

I've put this spec together that will be used primarily for playing games like Star Citizen and the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077.
I think it's a decent enough spec and want it to be futureproof for a good while. I'd appreciate any comments/advice as I'm not up on things like cooling.
Many thanks in advance:

Hi @lumensoooft to give you advice we will need to know the following;

What is your budget
What monitor will you be using with it (especially important if for gaming)

If you could add the link to the configurator for your build that would also be helpful.

Hi @steaky360 thanks for the reply. This comes out at just over £1300 near enough which slightly more than I wanted to pay but doable.
Monitor wise I'm getting hold of a LG 29UM68 29 inch Ultrawide IPS Monitor (2560 x 1080, HDMI, DisplayPort, 250 cd/m2, 5ms, AMD Freesync).

Where do I get the link to the configurator?

When you are looking at the config, press "proceed" then "post to forum" then simply copy and paste all the text into here :)

From my very limited knowledge you will want a better motherboard, an M2 drive and faster RAM. Which ones, I dont know!

Thanks @Scott! - that looks good, I guess the series 9 CPU was a bit overkill. With this spec I may be able to bump the graphics to a 2060 super and thinking about it I may switch out the 2TB HDD for a 500GB SSD.

absolutely ditch the b450 for the new b550. literally launched two days ago. search youtube for b550 and you'll find various 5-20 minute informative videos on the subject.

the rest of my input would be flaky opinions at best (outrageous CPU in the balance, for example), but i'm pretty sure that b550 is a solid opinion that everyone would get behind :)

The 2060 Super would be a fair spend to be honest. It'll give a performance bump and the monitor will use it with demanding games.

Regarding the SSD, I wouldn't swap out 2TB of mass storage for 500GB of fast storage, it's not a good trade. 1TB would be my minimum recommendation for a secondary drive.

Remember that this could be added at any time though. You can drop the 2TB drive altogether if you wish, then just add whatever you want whenever you choose. Open case policy with PCS, so sensible upgrades are allowed as long as you are careful.

I personally always advocate a 500GB OS drive and a 1TB Games/Cache drive. If you check my sig you'll notice a similar trend. Generally 500GB extreme, 1TB of fast for games and xxTB of slow for generic storage. It's served me well :)
