Not so sure I agree on the lack of benefits from a faster secondary drive. It really depends on the implementation of direct drive in the games that you will be frequently playing, and even just the games themselves and how they interact/load from the drive. It's measurable..... but I would also say you would likely need to use a stopwatch to actually notice.

If you're not concerned about the £20 difference then I would opt for the Firecuda 530. Better to have it than have wished you got it for the sake of that price difference. The budget option would be the SOLIDIGM, but not sure on the endurance of that particular drive so that's for when the budget is tight.

I do agree with the guys though, in that I wouldn't lose any sleep at all with a MP600 in as the secondary, it's still a blisteringly quick drive.

The way the pricing has come down on the top-end SSDs is remarkable. There's definitely a case for the upgrade given the small difference in price.

The one thing to be aware of is that a larger drive is likely to be faster (this is because it has more chips, so can do more parallel operations). PCS will, I think, install the operating system on the fastest drive. You really want it on the 500GB one, so if you do go for a very fast secondary drive, I'd also message them to make sure they install Windows on the drive you want.
