Sorry I think I’ve found it, this is the correct one isn’t it? The newest AMD processor? Happy to wait if that’s the case , just wait to get it ordered so I know it’s done.

What do you think of this spec? I noticed that the processor is £400 more than the previous one I looked at which does hurt a little lol

I just purchased this monitor with scope to updated over the next few years -

That's still the current (i.e. newest CURRENTLY on sale) generation of AMD chips (ZEN3). If you don't see CPUs starting with a 7 (instead of a 5) then it means it's not the brand new CPU (ZEN4).

That CPU would be £400 more than your previous CPU, as it's the current top-of-the-range desktop CPU (5950 - 16 core/32 thread) vs one one of the lower offerings from the current range (5600G - 6 core/12 thread).

If you wait until the new configurator becomes available for the 7xxx series, then you'll probably pay the no more than the price for a 'lowly' 5600G, for something equivalent to a current 5800X (8 core/16 thread) or 5900X (12 core/24 thread).

I think it's been mentioned previously, that pre-orders should go live on 15th September.

...and if you haven't already, it may be worth watching last night's AMD announcement to give yourself some idea of the extra performance the newer generation will provide.

Ahh yeah I think I misread that, I thought the pre orders were live now but wouldn’t get the product until around mid September, thank you for the info I watched the video this morning, although I’m not great with this stuff so I’m relying on people like yourself and spyder to give me expert opinions lol, thank you

Tomorrow is the day!!

Want to get my new pc pre-ordered tomorrow , just wondering if anyone could advise on the best build for me with the new Ryzen CPU or am I best just building the spec tomorrow and posting it on here to get advice?

Using a 27 inch MSI monitor 165hz 1ms 1440p.

Thanks

We love you Ukraine
The components aren’t listed yet so we dont know what PCS will be offering.

I thought the pre order went live today?
from AMD it does.

So i emailed PCS support a few days ago and they told me to check back on official release date.

"Thanks for getting touch. Unfortunately, due to the way preorders work we cannot officially sell them until the release date. This is when AM5 chipset will be available from September 27th.

I would recommend checking the website for availability on this date"

Oh dear😫😫 spyder mentioned a while back saying pre orders went live today, today is not a good day 🤣
I was under the same impression. Pre orders are live today from AMD. So whether that means sellers have to pre-order stock before they can sell it.

This is why I emailed PCS because im in the same boat as you! been waiting months!

Hopefully we get some public clarification soon! I wouldn't harm to keep checking the website as you just never know!

I did think it was a bit ambitious thinking pre orders would open today. X670 and X670E Motherboards don't get released until 27th, and B650 ones not until Oct, even if CPUs are available to preorder today (allegedly). Overclockers UK aren't listing anything until 27th too.

Be interesting to see X670 pricing, so far only MSI have revealed prices and they're expensive. I'd say many users might want to wait for the B650 boards in Oct.

I don’t know if I can wait any longer than the 27th to get mine ordered🤣 do you happen to know the price difference for motherboards required for the zen4? It’ll it’s not rediculous I’d happily pay the extra to get one just to have it sooner
