first time installing a gpu

im about to buy a 4090 ,never put a gpu in a pc before ,dose the 4090 come with just the small adapter??or do i plug the adapter into what my other gpu is hooked up 2??

First thing to check is that it will physically fit in your case, the 40 series GPU's are large

im getting the MSI GeForce RTX 4090 GAMING X TRIO 24GB GDDR6X it says its compatible with the case

TD500 spec sheet says up to 410mm for a GPU, presumably mounted in the standard fashion. As long as you don't have a front mounted radiator, the MSI 4090 is 337mm long so should fit length wise. Do you have any PCIe cards installed, like a wifi card?

yea my gpu thats in it is sideways and my cpu fans are mounted on the frount theirs like 3 to 4 inc on space left with my 3080ti in it,,no i didnt get one the motherbord alreay had 1

Sorry to segue the thread in a slightly different direction… do you need a 4090 in your life? You’ve currently got a 3080Ti in your build, which is a bit of a beast and looks to be only about a year old.

The adapter allows you to connect 3 standard PCIe power cables to it and then the 16 pin adapter plugs into the 4090. And hopefully doesn't go on fire...
