I wont lie I am raging. I bought it when it was in a sale at the back end of 2018 and put it on my to play list and it appears that's not going to happen.
*Edit* what makes me double rage is its a Microsoft Studios game!

Personally, I would strongly suggest that. Not that I've bought one for a long time, but I bought Quantum Break and Gears Ultimate on there in 2016 and both were buggy as hell whereas the Steam releases were really stable.
Never bought anything on there since.
They should have pulled the game from the store though if it's not developed anymore, or at least have some giant banner that tells you it's unsupported, that's really poor.

I need to stop thinking about this because its winding me right up haha. I still play games from 1999 on Windows 10 through Steam with no patching necessary but I cannot play a native Microsoft game that came out in 2016!

I have had a response to my support ticket and to be fair they haven't tried to fob me off with have you turned it off and on again. I am however shocked by this response:
"Thank you for taking the time to report this issue.
I wish I had better news for you, but unfortunately, we no longer actively support Legacy Forza titles. Limited support is still available for matchmaking and leaderboard services.
While I appreciate you taking the time out today to write in to Forza Support, we sadly are unable to take care of this request.

Forza Support Team"
Now lets be clear, I quite clearly do not expect a games studio to support their game until the end of time. That's just not practical or profitable. However what we are talking about here is a first party Microsoft studio dumping support for a Windows exclusive game on the same OS it was designed for after only 5 years. This absolutely blows my mind. Suffice to say I will not be buying anything from the Windows store ever again.
I have games in my Steam account getting updates 10 years later.

My steam account has patched 20 year old games to make them run fine in windows 10, Crysis as an example.
That is truly shocking!
I fully support that stance. I’m yet to buy from there and judging by your experience, I doubt I ever will.

I would strongly recommend not buying from windows store also, just generally much better support elsewhere.
Microsoft do this, they had such a great chance with the windows store, but just because windows mobile didn't stay around, they let it rot and gave no incentive for developers to concentrate on it, such a shame. Real lost opportunity.

i always found the windows store to be to slow and buggy, also a lot of the reviews on say apps are low due to the windows store operations, microsoft seemed to just bung the windows store in to windows and said, "well, that's that", and walked off

@barlew I do have Forza Horizon 3 and play it on a regular basis... never had any issues or crashes with it, to be fair. I have also formatted my PC once and installed everything from scratch, with no issues again. 
That is indeed weird that you (and a lot of other ppl) are having issues and I don't have any, I'm usually very unlucky with those things

Yep, I think it's the only way to install it. Well, now Forza 4 is on Steam anyway, but both my licenses (3 and 4) were acquired through the Microsoft sotre. I don't have Forza 4 installed anymore since I have done pretty much everything that was achievable, but been playing Horizon 3 since September 2020.
