First of all, I want to say that for the spec vs cost, there really is no competition out there. Spec not just on the CPU/GPU/RAM/SSD combo but taking into account the form factor and TREMENDOUS battery life. I was looking around mainstream laptop manufacturers and could not find anything that came close especially with the spec combo I have chosen. They are either cheaper with hugely poorer spec, or much more expensive with the same spec.

One photo you can see is the Fusion 4 compared to my old PCspecialist Vortex series 15.6 gaming laptop. It is a slim one. Still manage to fit in an RJ45 socket via spring loaded mouth so connectivity in that sense is better than most in the same size class.

Matt screen is good as a lot of mainstream laptops don't have it. Keyboard is acceptable to be but I don't have much to compare to. Trackpad is accurate and a good size.

The best feature by far has to be the battery life. Just look at the photo. That was the estimated battery life when I was just browsing the web (amazon to be accurate). It is crazy good.

I got a 1TB nvme SSD and there is still a spare slot for more if I need. Not bothered with single channel ram as 16gb is plenty as I configured.
Alloy chassis is very nice to the touch although not solid in the sense that it has flex in certain parts. Nothing on the keyboard side though so all good.

All in all, for the 900quid I paid, it is a bargain which I would recommend to anyone looking for a portable laptop.
For those that want to look at video reviews, search for Mag-15u as that uses the same tongfang chassis. Its a lite version of the famous gaming chassis of the Mag-15.

In summary, well happy, another satisfied (return) customer of PCS.

Hi, thumbs up!! Nice to know you are very satisfied with the purchase. Since I am currently pondering the purchase of a Fusion Laptop ( either the 14" or the 15.6"), I wonder if you would be so kind as to give me your appraisal on a few issues ( mentioned by others in the Forum).

1) All fresh USB ports are hard to use, it takes several insertions (about 5-10?) to get the ports smooth.
2) Touchpad really difficult to use (jerky, jumpy, hard to position etc) - I see however that the trackpad was OK for you when you received the machine
3) How would you rate the screen brightness? ( PCS has no specs available on the screen brightness). Is it usable outdoors?
4) How would you rate the screen colour gamut? ( The spec is 72% NTSC / 99% sRGB - which is impressive if true at this price point)

Your feedback will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance !!

Hi, after quite some research I discarded the Fusion 14", as too many users have reported several quirks most probable due to limitations of the very small form factor.
So I am narrowing my choice down to the 15.6 now, and yours is the only review I found on the forum with a config matching almost exactly mine (except for the i7 CPU instead of the i5).

I actually looked at the Video review you mention of the MAG 15u from Eluktronics which uses a similar Tongfang barebone. However, the MAG 15u seems to differ in several aspects from the Fusion IV:
a) It provides thermal management software with different profiles in order to match performance vs heat & noise
b) It comes with a Glass Microsoft Precision (PTP) Touchpad.
c) I am not sure The IPS Panel in the Mag 15u is the same as the Fusion IV. There is no rated panel brightness (Nits) in the PCS website and it is not available from PCS sales reps either. They state it is not provided by TongFang, I find this rather strange.
The Mag15uPanel ( In the reviews) is measured at 94%sRGB Gamut, 329 Nits max brightness & 880:1 contrast ratio, which is pretty good considering the price point.

As you have had the laptop for a couple of months now, I wonder how has been your experience so far.

How would you rate the panel brightness, the noise level at various loads, the thermal performance, the keyboard/trackpad/ports usability, and the overall reliability of the machine?

Your comments will be very much appreciated, they would help me in making a purchase decision.

Many thanks in advance & regards
