Hi, I plan on going to another country within the next year or so. I want to get the best gaming laptop I could possibly get for around £1500-2000. I am not very familiar with specs and never built a pc before but it seems more already built laptops are overpriced for what they are. Is it cheaper to have the laptop built on this site and if so what build what is the best build I could get in that price range?

do you want to use it for gaming or for productivity/CPU intensive tasks?
also yes, per-spec PCS make significantly cheaper laptops. I've had quality control issues but i don't know if they're the norm or not.

anyway, assuming it's for gaming, this is the best you can get from PCS.

I think other vendors have an RTX 2080 full fat, with the 150-200W TDP (just outside your price range), but PCS doesn't have that.
also if you're moving away from the UK, if you ever get an issue with the laptop which I have had for an ungodly number of times even though i've only had the laptop for less than 6 months, getting it back here to be fixed is not going to be easy, it may not even be feasible. You would honestly be better off buying a new laptop once you reach the country you wanted to go to.

Thank you, so much. What is the difference between having the 144hz screen and the 240hz? I'll probably go for the cheaper one but what is the difference. Is it to do with fps?

I’d up the RAM speed, wouldn’t choose the intel M2 as it has a very short write span.

But otherwise it’s good
I didn’t find any 2933MHz ram in the Configurator. 2666 is the best I guess? I hope OP sees it and changes it I can’t be arsed to go editing all that on mobile lol. Didn’t know the intel is a bad SSD tho. On a budget build of £12-1300 it’s an acceptable SSD I hope?

Thank you guys for the help. I upped the ram speed to the 2666 ones and I changed the ssd to the PCS ones. :) It was really nice to get such a fast response as my 7 year old pc finally broke down.
