My main concern at the moment is heat and temperature, I do not know if I'd need more fans built into the case, if my CPU cooler is strong enough etc.. I think it'll do well running modern games at good specs, but I don't really know much. If there are any recommendations any has, please let me know :) I am in processing stage so still can make amendments!

You should really have asked for advice before ordering. For instance, the 3070 is a complete waste of money.

If you can post the full specs?

I am confused as I have above I thought?

The screen is 4k 144hz. If you're only getting 120hz it's probably because you're using HDMI, need to use DP.

The 3070 won't be powerful enough, and at that level the VRAM on NVidia GPUs is too little for a lot of modern games so performance will be pretty dreadful I'm afraid. It can just about manage 1440p but not 4k texture packs.

The PSU is far too low to accommodate a modern GPU, you need to take into account transient spikes which requires a lot of headroom as well as upgrades. The first bottleneck will be the GPU whatever you buy now, you have to accommodate future upgrades.

Plus you've got upgraded paste, but the cooler comes pre applied with higher grade paste, you want to leave that as normal.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply, that is really appreciated :) so, accept 1440p gaming (a-ok with me!) and some modern titles may struggle until I upgrade the PSU & GPU.

And then when I need/want to upgrade in the future it'll be the PSU and then the GPU otherwise it just won't have enough power to function. I hope I have got that right.

I will remove the paste in amendments, I am worried however why the 3070 is a complete waste of money? Was that referring to 4k gaming only? If I was happy to run games at 1440p, would it be a good purchase for games? I think for most AAA games I'll stick on my PS5 for 4k!

thanks again and really appreciate your time

Watch the video above. You will have to seriously dial down the settings of some current and most future games due to the VRAM limit of 8GB. Basically in 12 months it will be obsolete for new AAA games.

You would need a 1440p screen and I'd still suggest the RX6800 over the 3070 as you can see from the video, the 3070 is a dead card, really has no place. It's not powerful enough for Ray Tracing anyway so there's no real benefit to it.

1440p does not scale into 4k, so if you reduce resolution on your current monitor it will look very poor. You need a dedicated 1440p screen.

Helps if you read and watch the links posted. Afraid we can't do more than that. The 3070 is no benefit really over the 3060ti, it was a very poorly placed card at launch 3 years ago. We would never recommend it, the 3060ti or 3070ti have taken it's place. But now with the VRAM issue, there's just no case for it, it will always give a poor experience factoring in current and upcoming games.

AMD's cards are more appropriate.

No, you spec a suitable PSU now, that one isn't powerful enough for the build.. Replacing a PSU is a full system rebuild, I take it since you're ordering from PCS, you're not familiar with system building. It also doesn't cost much more to get something suitable.
