You'll want to go for 2 680's mate, you'll get way better performance than a 690, I wouldn't worry about noise, and you only need a 850w PSU to power 2 680's I VERY HIGHLY recommend 2 680s.

Tiny bit better performance, higher power consumption, heat and noise. See the link I posted earlier :)

Yeah, sorry forgot to state that link, and i've read on lots of forums that it's best to go with the gtx 690, how's the quad sli does it get any massive or bigger fraps than a single 690?

Edit - does anyone know what RAID does?

It does get higher FPS than a single 690 but not massively, there are scaling issues (improving with new drivers though!)

Raid is a way to link several hard drives together into one volume on your PC. Not really that useful these days I wouldn't say.

Ohh right thanks :) can you give like a general frap increase 10-20 etc? and yeah that would be expected with such a powerful gpu, and ahh well then there's no need for me to do it, thanks :D

Unfortunately not, I have not really benched much with only one card.

Haha it's alright i've checked it only seems to give a few fraps increase because of the scaling issues, but on metro 2033 on the benchmark i read it gave a big increase in fraps compared to the single 690
