Not a luxury in this day and age. SSD is the norm in his day and age as it gives big improvements in game loading, programe loading, rendering etc etc. So much better than a mechanical HD for not much more in cost! I would choose an SSD everytime. I would never go back to a mechanical HD!

An SSD is not the norm, it is still a luxury unless you can afford it. I am lucky I can but for people on a tighter budget there are more pressing priorities.

I have a 980ti and on some games at 1080p, it is still put through it's paces. The 980 is far from overkill.

Sorry if i'm being stupid, but why when I clicked on your original suggestion, doesn't it give me the option to change to the GTX980?

It is a different built, I would suggest the spec below. You could consider the 390x AMD to lower the price closer to £1000.

What is your budget? You shouldn't use the v300 ssd since it suffers from performance issues. A caviar black is faster than the standard drive you selected and for either build you may want to get at least silver warranty for £5. For gaming the best build is the one with the best gpu between those 2, the gtx 980.

Well after working it out, depending on the two outcomes of my payslip, My budget will either be £1000, or £1250 (which is why I put on 2 builds above.) But that budget includes the price for the screen that I selected aswell
