Hi all, 10 years since an upgrade Buget of £1800 or near, virtually soley for gaming can you take a look at this spec for me please. (Especially to work well on Elite Dangerous) I presume there are 6 usb ports ( 2 front and 4 rear) Is there more on the Motherboard?

Monitor, using a LG Flatron W2486L which I would like to replace whith something slightly bigger and better 28-32 inch which would go with the spec, suggestions? havent a clue about monitors!

We need to build it on the right website though, otherwise you'll be overpaying unecessarily.

The build above is done in the UK website which isn't going to be suitable for you, so we'd need to spec it in the french site.

This is where I'd be looking, has the best gaming processor available which is going to be important for Starfield as it's procedural generation, this includes all taxes, plus appropriate warranty for those abroad. Buying off the UK site wouldn't account for those so you'd actually get far less for your money.

I wouldn't recommend the PCS drive. There have been a number of failures documented. The best value secondary option just now is the Corsair MP600.

Completely different standard/level of drive. If it's just for mass storage then it'll be fine but I wouldn't put anything on it you actually want to load.

Your initial build had a SSD in place. The M2s suggested far outperform the SSD. You have then dismissed these options for a mechanical drive which will be around 10x slower than the SSD you initially chose.

It's your money of course, but I wouldn't expect any recommendations to follow your choice.

We would typically recommend keeping games off of the primary drive and having a dedicated drive. If it's literally for one or 2 games then you should be OK but keep in mind that modern games can be quite unweildy storage wise. You want to keep the primary drive as trim as possible, and most definitely less than 50% capacity to keep it running optimally. Windows normally accounts for 100GB including pagefile etc. This would leave ITRO 150GB of useable space before impacting performance.

A bigger primary would help with this, but again you're putting all the eggs in one basket. Something that we wouldn't recommend.

I have also put on the monitor on that Spider recommended and have this comment:

"Please note that as this screen only supports full DP connection. Therefore, depending on your choice of graphics card, you may need to order an mDP to DP cable for the display"

No, that’s only for professional GPUs, any consumer gpu has DP as the primary ports.

Whichever option you want to go for, totally up to yourself. It's a compromise in performance/quality but if you're happy to do that to help with the budget then go for it. It's not incompatible
