Okay, got it. Yeah the monitor is 1440p. I'm going to wait for this refund to come through an then opt for an AMD build. Although the CPU is pre-order only too so might still have to wait a while! I don't care. Im currently rocking with a 980TI (Which in all fairness runs cod at 80-110fps) so I can definitely wait a few monthEverything you could want for 1440p gaming, assuming that the BenQ monitor is indeed 1440p. Downgrading to the more suitable GPU not only makes the build better balanced, with more money available to spend on other components, but you should also have less time to wait as the 3060ti is less in demand than the 3080.
Also in a few years that build just enables you to stick a new gpu in if you ever want to upgrade to a better monitor etc your original build left you with little upgrade paths so good on yaThank you, i honestly really appreciate the help
No problemo, you can see from all the posts above that there’s a good collective of tech enthusiasts here who want you to get the best value for money and a system that’ll keep you grinning for the best part of a decade. If you’ve any further questions, just update this thread and someone will jump on to assist 👍Thank you, i honestly really appreciate the help
I’m a notorious insomniac and when I do sleep... it’s with one eye open... 🤪Time to catch some shuteye, Cooper can’t beat me to the punch if he’s still in bed! 😂
Hey appreciate the feedback!!! Unfortunately my little brother is only 16 and in NO WAY will be able to afford a Microsoft key.. even if I did want to knock off 100 lolFor your budget and with a 1440p, 144hz monitor, I'd be going for a 3070. Give your pc to your brother and tell him to buy windows himself and take that licence with you. You can make this £2k friendly by changing the 980 m2 ssd to the 512gb PCS one of you want, would still fly:

Meh maybe. Depends on the games. If I get a 144hz monitor, and only get double figures at 1440p at ultra on on horizon zero dawn I'd be a bit 'meh'. I know you can turn things down to get 144hz but given he can afford it and games will only get more demanding I'd still personally try and get one if I could afford it.The 3060Ti is the perfect card for 1440p 144Hz, it’s not necessary to bump to the 3070.
It’s a pleasure, happy to help you spend your hard earned cash on something you can enjoy for years to come 🙂👍Hey,
I don't really think I need any higher than an 3060ti, after looking into with the help of the guys on the forum I think I'd be buying it for buying sake..
I'd just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped me to process the right PC spec, specially @AgentCooper - my refund came through today and i've purchased the exact build you recommended (plus some RGB lights for the pretty aesthetics). n also @jamiephillips909 for helping me cancel. I appreciate your two pence you put in too @MrWilson.
Never really used and/ posted to a forum before but you guys are absolutely awesome and made me feel very welcome and also not stupid for not knowing. Absolute GEMS!!!! <3
Not to worry, you’re always welcome to resurrect the thread if you have any issues 👍Ok I think I’ve got ahead of myself... I think they’re in stock... I’m just getting ahead of myself as usual
I would go 3200 2x16gb=32gb. Ram is cheap now but not for long. People are talking that ram prices will, together with other pc parts, start rising. It's just talks, so think yourself how much of ram you currently use. If more than 10-12gb, then go with 32gb, if less than 10-12gb, then stick with 16gb.Hello..
I think waiting on the PC has just made me do so much more research and I have a couple questions if one of you lovely people could help?
So I've been reading up about my CPU (5800X) and just Zen 3 in general (not that I understand any of it) but I have come across this thread on the forum ( https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/foru...3-4-ram-sticks-seemingly-better-than-2.74323/ ). I currently have my build set at 2x8GB 3200, should I go up to 32GB? I don't think there is an option for 4x4 for 3200 unless I went with a lower speed RAM... but AMD likes fast RAM...
Do you think i should stop being tight and just spend the extra £100?
I would (and do) run with 2X8GB of 3200MHz RAM on my system that is 90% gaming, 10% music production. It’s absolutely fine with that, so I’d recommend sticking with your original selection. You could spend that hundred notes on something else far more useful 🙂👍Hello..

No problemo 👍And there you are again easing my mind! Thank you, I really do appreciate the advice!!
