Hello,

First, major thanks to PC Specialist, I got my machine and I am so happy with it, there are a couple of issues which I eamiled support with

1) One of the front USB 3 ports is not working, I tried everything, even installed ubuntu to test, all other USB ports are working find.

2) The machine is running well and I managed to play Skyrim and BF4 for about 10 min each as well as run the some benchmarking software such as Intel Extreme tuning. But then I ran Microsoft experience index and I started getting the blue screen, I then ran Intel Extreme running and it kept on giving me blue screen as well (this happened 4 times). This morning I did the same thing but it worked fine?

Any ideas guys?

Thanks,

Hi mate,

Not a PC expert but with regards to the USB issue, have you checked that all the cabling and things are OK? As for the blue screen, do you get any message at all? if so try doing a Google search, see what comes up.

If it's a brand new machine then you should contact PCS over the phone. They will sort it out. For the USB issue you could try: Disconnecting all your USB devices, Go to Device Manager and expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Uninstall all USB Host controllers. (Right click and uninstall). Also uninstall all other items such as hubs. Restart your computer and Windows 7 will reinstall all the controllers automatically. If this fails to fix it then, as I said before, contact PCS.

I did not have the blue screen yesterday and I ran a prime95 for 10hrs. I will run some benchmarking on the graphics card to see if the issue was from that, but it is very strange that I was unstable for a while.

As for the USB, I tried a few other things and again no luck. PCS has not got back to me yet!

Dear Knigh7

Sorry to hear you had a few problems off the bat.

BSOD's happen from time to time, i get them on the odd occasion when i have updated a driver and not restarted the computer but once thats done everything seem to run smooth again. Usually GPU drivers, Beta once in particular.

With regards to the USB problem, if the computer is not detecting any devices connected to that USB port but is on the others this may be a hardware issue and may not be solvable without replacing that piece of kit however i would contact PCS to get a definitive answer. There great on the phone and would be happy to help.

Should the BSOD happen agaion however please try to take a photo and upload it onto this forums and we will do our best to diagnose and try to work through any solutions we have.

Hope this helps

Mike

Hi,

Thanks for this, will contact them tomorrow, I agree with you, it may be a hardware issue as I tried with the installation of windows that the computer came with, I tried with my own windows installation on it and i even tried with ubuntu installed. Its just that one USB on the front left

PCS support think it might be related to my broken usb pins or the ram, they are picking it up tomorrow and they will test the memory
