H150i Capellix PUMP LED trouble

Yes, everything up to date, forced an update but pump LED’s have been intermittent for months now

Very weird, must be hardware then as you say, shame, RMA best port of call.

If i do and RMA i suppose im going to have to take everything out am i? Is it an easy swap taking the whole pumps assembly off the CPU and putting a new one on ?

It's fairly straightforward although a bit fiddly. You'd need to repaste as well if fitting another cooler.

Yeah I’m convinced it’s hardware, I might just swap the Commander to another USB header and see if it’s same

Presume if they RMA it the whole H150i will come so just clean off old paste from CPU and pop new pump on as it should have pasts on it?

Yeah, that's right, the cooler comes preapplied on a replacement.

Make sure you clean the existing paste with some isopropyl alcohol to fully clean it with a cotton bud or something that's not going to leave residue

When you’re removing the old pump, run something like Cinebench for 10-15 mins to warm up the paste, this will make it more pliable. Then unscrew all the screws, and give the pump a gentle twist left and right as you slowly pull up. Should come off easily enough this way, worse case the CPU remains stuck to the pump head. If this happens just be gentle and don’t bend any cpu pins.
