I brought this as a treat to myself as my self-built desktop is well over 15 years old (it could be 20!) and Lenovo laptop that wasn’t great with EVE, Star Trek Online and no chance with PCVR on the Quest 2.

I used the laptop out of the box and got a BSOD the next day. Bluescreen view helped to find out what the problem was. I re-installed windows as a precaution as the problem was related the DPTF driver/install.

Now onto PCVR. I am using the Quest 2 connected to the PC via WiFi with Virtual Desktop. I had some speed issues between them in which it turned out to be the firewall I installed. This was discovered after the second install as I wasn’t happy with what was happening. I tested the Quest 2 using Vader Immortal and Beatsaber, both worked with no major latency, the setup did involve a bit of trail n error and reading. I haven’t tested a direct connection to the laptop using its WiFi hotspot as it’s not needed at the moment.

I have to give large thanks to the PCSpecialist Team for the work they have done, I contacted them twice during the order process and they were very helpful, I did pay the extra for faster build and delivery, which I wanted to do initially but was unable to when I ordered way back in Feb. I was comparing a lot of similar spec devices; PCS turned out to be the best option for me and I am glad I made the choice.

Thanks also to the users on this Forum, there has been some useful bits of information that have helped me on this new laptop journey.
