Hey guys - the new rig arrive today and it looks beastly.

I'm having trouble locating the HDD though, it's not showing up at all.

The HDD is there and in one of the slots but tbh i'm not savvy with these things at all and don't want to poke around really further without some advice. I've completed all the Windows updates too.

Any help appreciated.

Have a look at the internal cables running to the HDD, it's possible the SATA power cable has dislodged in transit and just needs plugging in again.

Just had a look and there's one cable running from the HDD (presume it's the SATA) but it's connected fine by the looks of things, even gave it a little push to make sure.

There should be 2 cables, one power and one data.

The power cable runs to the PSU and the Data cable runs to the motherboard.

That's done the trick. Feel a bit silly now! Cheers for your help though, would've been too scared to play about blindly with the wires off the bat.
That's ok, it happens sometimes unfortunately, they're cabled so perfectly with very little give on the cabling that a little knock in transit can shift something loose.

Just make sure the drive is showing up in file explorer, sometimes they haven't been initialised yet, it's very easy to do if not.

Thanks - got it registering in both file explorer and disk management now so that should be that hopefully!
