Just my two cents. If your modem/router supports 802.11N then it would help substantially with signal interference from neighboring routers, considering that they are all on older standards. From what I know all options at PC specialist are the N standard so you shouldn't have any problem. Apart from interference from other routers there's a variety of factors that can impinge on wireless throughput and having equipment that has a higher rating usually doesn't change those. It's only certain conditions such as range that the newer standards can improve.
For unfettered connectivity, considering everything is consistent from the ISP side, once inside your home the best options are the traditional Ethernet cable, which can't be beat, or the Ethernet over powerline adapters.
we pay for 7MBps on BT and im lucky to get 1 MBps. my average steam download is 750KBps. i really want to get an Ethernet cable
I've called quite a few times, as we only get around 300Kbps, as opposed to 3Mbps haha!
I've gave up phoning though, BT call centre's are past a joke...
Lmao, it takes me around 5 hours to download the packages I require for my drawing and rendering.
It can be annoying, but I can't do much about it unfortunately.
