Why are you not convinced by them? The liquid cooling is just the AIO. It’s a sealed unit and only requires dusting of the fans every month or so like an air cooler would. They give fantastic temps and the H115i will keep the 5800X icy cool. Over recent years they’ve really worked on the quality of them so they’re pretty much bulletproof (they don’t leak) these days, especially the Corsair units. Damage can sometimes be caused in shipping, so I’d just double check for leaks when you first turn the PC on and first time you put it under load, if you have no leaks then then you’re good to go.

We generally don’t recommend the PCS air coolers and the Cooler Master 212 probably isn’t strong enough to keep temps comfortable with the 5800X. If you’re really not wanting an AIO, you could look into installing your own when the PC arrives. Noctua are generally known to be top of the line air coolers.
Ahh I'm with you 👌🏻

Hi ladies and gents,

I have posted so many prospective builds on here over the past 12 months but then had to put getting a PC on hold due to work.

I had some great help last time, and think I've understood what I was being told and applied that with this build so I'm just after a check from knowledgeable people before ordering anything.

I will be using this on a 55" 4K LG TV and aim to play a whole host of games from Battlefield, RDR2, FM22, The Forest 2 (when it comes out).

I would like to be able to play any current or soon to be released game on ultra settings basically (not asking for much I know!).

Would the below allow me to do this?

Is there anything I can do without, to drop the price?

Are there any parts I've selected that aren't that good?

Any help would be appreciated. I could easily have missed something in the build. Thank you in advance.

Yeah there is a lot we can do here, can you let me know the exact model of TV? It's likely 60Hz being a TV so a 3080 isn't really required you would want 4K 144Hz for a 3080 to be in use

Also the 5950x offers very little over the 5900x for gaming, it's not a gaming based CPU. Ideally I'd like t recommend the X570 STIXX motherboard instead of the HERO but it's out of stock right now

Went for a better case for cooling and airflow. Went for a larger PSU for cooling and quiet. Changed up the storage a little and went with a CPU cooler that's a better fit the case but the H115i is fine as well

Any questions fire away but the GPU will really depend on what HZ the TV you have can output

Merged your posts together. Please try to stick to one so that all previous garnered information can be seen.

From the previous thread it appears to be the 4k 120hz OLED in question. So with that and ultra settings being mentioned the 3080Ti isn't a bad splurge. It's a ton of money for unrealistic settings though and won't actually get you all the way.

Thank you so much for your help. The TV is oled55b9pla I can get 120hz for COD on my Xbox Series X so I'm assuming it's 120 😅

How come you have gone for 4x 8GB, rather than 2x 16?

How it looks doesn't bother me btw so I avoid RGB if possible as it's normally cheaper, and it won't be visible (or at least that's the plan). This means the size of the tower will come into it but I can try and talk my girlfriend round if needs be 👀

It's not just the lights mate it's about airflow as well. The Cooler Master Silence case is understated yes but it's also not great for temperatures. You can always turn the RGB off

As for the 4x8GB as oppose to 2x16 it's really up to you. I don't see a game other than extreme simulators needing anything more than 20GB so I doubt you'll ever need to go to 64GB of RAM for gaming. So I just filled the slots

Would you recommend waiting for the motherboard? What are the differences?

The motherboard is where I struggle the most to understand, in terms of what I should be looking for.

The HERO is the toppest of the top tier that PCS offer, it's a ridiculous piece of kit and amazing. If you don't mind the cost it's the best one PCS offer.

It's just the X570 STRIXX is perfectly suitable and cheaper so went tend to recommend that over the HERO. We generally only recommend that for the 5950x builds as to push the 5950x to it's limits you would need a board like the HERO

It's super overkill and a fantastic piece of kit. That's the only reason I recommend the X570 STIXX it's cheaper and perfectly suitable so it makes more sense budget wise
