The budget isn't there for a system to support a £400 monitor. You would be looking at over £2k just now to hit good quality 1440p.

Below centres around the aforementioned HD monitor above. It's gone a little over budget but it has the supporting cast required for a decent system.

If you find the budget available later I would look to upgrade with a 1440p 144hz monitor (Circa £250-£300) and a 4070 Super / Ti Super tier GPU (Budget depending). That will get you right into the mix of 1440p gaming.

Note, when posting up your spec.... if you follow the guide in the link provided earlier it will show how to post it as I have above without the additional spacing. For added simplicity, when you click "Post to forum" there is a button at the bottom that will copy the entire spec into the clipboard and allow you to easily paste it in as a comment.

Try to keep to one thread if possible so folk can see what other users have suggested.

I presume you don't like the spec that @Scott posted hence reverting (mostly) back to your original spec?. What are the problems you see with it? Perhaps they can be discussed see what your drivers are?

It's a very poor build. If you would engage in the discussion we can try to help.

You dont have the budget for what you’re expecting. This has already been clearly outlined above.

If your budget has increased then let us know what the new budget is?

£1800 would be required for the 4070 to have the build actually sensible. If you want to set fire to money and completely undercut the rest of the build to shoehorn in a 4070 then by all means go for it. You won't have anyone recommending this or giving advice this way though as it's completely counter productive to why you build a custom PC in the first place.

The real irony is that I've tried to cut a couple of corners in the below build to actually get you closer to your budget. This is not how I would spec the system if I was building it for myself, this is the minimum that I would go for with the technology on offer and looking for a sustainable build.

It would be really worth your while to look at the desktop building guide from the stickies. There is a lot to learn and understand about how and why certain components are chosen and how they interact with each other. The builds in the guide are out of date as it's been a while since I've did a deep dive into them, but the principles all remain the same.

i appreciate that and i am willing to to up my budget if you believe this system build will be ideal for my situation if i changed the 4070 to super would you still keep the other components the same as i get what you mean and i dont want to bottle neck anything id say its worth paying the extra for a good system thank you

The Super fits straight in and it's definitely the option I would opt for. You get a reasonable performance boost for not a whole lot more money.

I actually made a mistake in the above spec, I meant to choose the B650 rather than the X670 as there are good savings to be had and it's still an excellent board.

I've opted for the H100x cooler below. The 7700 doesn't need it, the air cooler previously is fine, but I would like to have an AIO in there should you wish to upgrade to the 7800X3D or similar down the line. The 7800X3D is the gaming CPU right now. The system is immediately ready for this or the next generation 9800X3D (this is an assumption but I don't think it's a stretch).

The only other thing to consider is the PSU. I don't think there's good value in the 1000w RMx nowadays, with the 1200w Shift being an ATX3.0 offering. If you don't think you'll go past the 4070 tier of card (mid level) then the 750w PSU should be enough. If you think you'll upgrade to a 4k gaming solution in the future with this PC I would take the hit for the 1200w shift personally. It's a shame that the higher power ATX3 options aren't available yet.

With all that being said, I would hold off to see what the releases do to pricing over the coming weeks.

Thank you for the information thats had helped alot i think i will take your advice on that, probs never gonna go to 4k any time soon i think 2k is graphically appealing enough for me so with the 7800x3D aswell its pretty much my version of a high end pc so maybe will wait a little to see if it drops like you said potentially
