Help with editing pc build

Haha. It's a new PC with a new license, so hopefully it will be OK.

Flowers on standby though.
Let us know if one Microsoft id properly activates two digital licenses would you please? That will be useful info to know.

That way you can tell your MIL that you were cooperating with an important experiment!

Hahaha. Will do. The current one is taking an hour to boot up (hence the replacement) so I'm not sure if she's planning to. When I asked what applications I needed to download and install I was met with "applications?". Seems its used for email and web browsing. Took a punt that Acrobat Reader would be needed, and we're going to try to introduce her to Zoom.

My brother-in-law is delivering and getting the job of showing her how to use that (thankfully)

I would advise holding off. It's rumoured that the 3060Ti is to be released on Dec 2nd. That being the case it's likely the best GPU to pair with an editing system.

I don't know if you can have it all for ITRO £1300 but it won't be THAT far off and will offer a significant advantage in all uses that you have suggested.

With regards to the rest of the build, as suggested above you are quite far from the mark on the Case & The PSU. These need to be properly considered as contributing factors to performance and usefulness.

What would you guys recommend for the case & the psu?

what are everyone's thoughts on this configuration?

I have adjusted the case and power supply as to what I think is better but given my lack of knowledge may not be appropriate still. Also added in the 3060 ti and reduced the SSD size & removed windows 10 installation to cut costs.

Windows 10, will hopefully be transferring my license from my previous pc
If the budget allows, push for the 5800x. Generally for an editing build we’d recommend the 5900x but if budget isn’t available for that, then the 5800x would be far better.

You need cores for editing.

Is there a big difference between those two? Also do you think the airflow on the case I chose is good enough & is the psu appropriate?

5800x is 8 core 16 threads, the 5900x is 12 cores 24 threads, so yes, significant difference.

The PSU is fine

I would push to the NZXT case, it's only 8 pounds more, but significantly better for airflow.
