How soon is soon? Be aware that between ordering and arriving you are looking at roughly a month due to the current situation with covid.
Would advise against Intel and go AMD, just all round better ATM and also more for your money.

Fortnite isnt really a heavy game, so doesnt need an all-out spec, but theres some important bits.
What is the monitor thats going to be used? If you know its full name/specs that will help
With a 1K budget and looking at games like fortnite, it may be better to go the SSD route rather than a M.2 SSD (just cost and performance requirements). Would also look at a 500Gb for the operating system to sit on, not 250Gb

If you go back to the configurator (or a saved quote if you have one) theres a button that says "Post to Forums"
Click that and it formats it so you can copy paste whole spec here easily and includes a link at the bottom so people can give you different config options easily.

Looks a lot like a 1080p 144Hz monitor, i'm assuming you wont be upgrading to 1440p on that budget?
AMD will be just as capable for streaming, is more stable, better thermals, better security and far less bugs...
It'll cost less, give just as much performance and do it at better temps, only time Intel overtake AMD anymore is when you look at overclocking, which you really wont need.

With the old system, are there any bits you can move over? Win 10 for example (save £100) any drives etc?

If sticking with a 1080p monitor, then is also means no point pushing the spec as the monitor just wont be able to display it.
I have only put a drive in for the operating system, on the idea that you have a Win 10 licence you can transfer ovre and storage drives too.

I would start with something along these lines, and get a Mod or more experienced person to have a look over and see if theres anything you can tweek. I will warn you though, choosing Intel will eat far more budget, so the machine will end up being lower spec/less capable.

Hi,
Thanks for all your suggestion.
Im lost in all this i might be able to stretch to £1100.
would this still run fine if i do upgrade his monitor say in a years time?

Well, the GPU in this build is for his current monitor which is a 1080p monitor. If you bought an upgraded 1440p monitor next year, it would need a graphics card upgrade at the same time otherwise it would still only display 1080p as that is the limit of the graphics card.

This is the downside of Fortnite in that it relies a lot on CPU power as well as the graphics card whereas "normal" games only rely on the graphics card...so you need a better cPU than is normally necessary.
Hi,
So what system would you suggest So that if I bought a new monitor in a year or so?
thanks for your help.
