High CPU temperatures in idle (95+ Celsius)

Hello, recently I've been having issues with my CPU temperatures going up to 100 and then obviously the CPU being throttled while doing anything. Story is my hydro cooler stopped working and I have tried to replace it myself with a new version of the same cooler named "Corsair iCUE H60i RGB PRO XT Liquid CPU Cooler". I believe I have installed it properly, the readings for the cooler indicate that the cooler's temperatures are 25-30 Celsius. I also believe that the cooler is physically touching the CPU so it should in fact cool it, but it doesn't seem so because temperatures should be much lower, right? Should I just give it to a local repair shop?

For now I put my max processor state at 50% in power options, and my temps are 70-80 idle and 90-95 while doing something, but obviously my PC isn't behaving as desired and it still is too high for my liking.

If the CPU is hot and the AIO fluid temperature is low it looks like heat is not being transferred effectively. This points to an improper installation of the pump to the CPU or thermal paste not applied effectively. The other possibility is that the new cooler has failed

Could be alot of air trapped in the pump

When screwing down the cooler onto the cpu its best to turn the screws a few turns each its bad to just screw one side down then the other for a better seal its best to screw the screw 2 turns then move to another screw then back again till fully screwed down this applies pressure slowly and makes the thermal paste spread more evenly

Would it be possible to show us a picture of the aio as it is in your case and where the leads from it are connected to

Did you replace the motherboard fittings when you changed the cooler over?

Holy.. I'm pretty bad with screws so I redid them the way you said and my temperatures at idle are way way better (50 C) Going to keep an eye still during tasks. Thank you all so much, might update if more problems arise :)

Daft question but you ensured that you removed any covering or cellophane from the plate of the cooler (where the paste is)?

Well I saw that the paste is on the CPU after trying to install the cooler again soo I'm pretty sure?

That would suggest all OK, as long as you removed the paste from the CPU after removing the first cooler :)
